Lets make this short, you got your budget lets say RM1k, doing some research on the card that you want, AMD or nVidia doesn't matter, then buy the card that value to your point of view, don't look back, LOL.
Well, unless you have $$ to spend, you can always change when you feel like it or when there's new one come out every few months.
Decide on the time you buy then don't look back, otherwise you'll feel so arse regret every time you buy one thing and the next day you realize how the **** you bought it in the first place.

If you can max out your card without having PC issue (hang, BSOD, turned off unexpected, etc.) then you might able to last for another year or less (depends on usage).
If you want to save your precious hardware, buy the real power PSU 500W and above is recommended.
