my Sapphire 6870 oc to core clock - 1002    memory clock - 1150  gpu voltage - 1299
now my temperature is 60 to 70. will it consider hot? should i increase the fan speed?
my casing side panel not yet install fan. maybe after install will more cool.
*
Yes please do create a custom profile for fan speed using TriXX since you already OC ur card.my current idle temps are 46'C at 22% fan speed using Automatic Fan profile.

If i do gaming then i'll use TriXX to switch to Custom fan control profile.

hi all, i got my sapphire 6870, and to my surprise, it isnt using reference cooler from AMD. it consist a black dual slot cooler with some sort of heatpipe underneath and i think the fan is slightly bigger than the AMD reference one, looks cool but dunno about its performance fully.

see more here http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/p...sn=0001&pid=981

i run a simple tessellation stress test using GPU caps viewer and my result is ~44c idle and ~67c full load, my ambient temperature is the standard temperature of our country's noon time.

my question is, is this the better cooler compared to the reference one? all of the reviews i can find consist of the standard reference from AMD.
*
Hye there,i've got the exact same card like yours from sapphire.u can refer pics a few pages back which i posted in this thread.Apparently i have to use TriXX to custom the fan profile instead of using automatic fan profile. So did u stress test using auto profile or custom?

My idle temps is similiar with yours but at 23% fan speed ( auto fan profile ) but could go up to 80++'C at Furmark's stress test.maybe u could try using FurMark as well.

erm.. sapphire graphic card can flash to xfx bios? if unsuccessful the graphic card spoil? or always can recovery back
i'm first time play oc thing.
*
The current hd 6870s are all reference types with the exception of aftermarket coolers installed on them.Since it's still reference card, using another brand's bios isnt a problem and imo i prefer bios modding then using software to OC.

Just to let you know also that flashing bios to another brand's bios might/will void your warranty shall anything goes wrong,do it on your own risk.Always save ur default bios 1st before attempting to flash.

i c, 80C is kinda high man, i will have a try later. btw, how high u can OC this card?1ghz? i mean without the voltage bumping.
*
Haven't tried OCing the card yet.80'C is kinda high for me but that's with Auto Fan profile.i will try Furmark again to see fan speed at 80"C.
Gonna try removing my PCI sound card as well later to check idle and load temps since it's slotted directly below the GC,might have caused air blockage ( Mobo is uATX size )

So far it's only a preview. The new UI will be only for Windows Vista and later, not for XP.but there will be the old catalyst UI with 10.12 drivers.

i believe amd concept is not like that..

If not by benchmark, then it's definitely by value/performance and that's the very reason i bought my hd 3870 and hd 6870.

hd6900 use vapor chamber, they copycat nvidia

More like AMD and Nvidia copied Sapphire's VaporX technology.Sapphire started Vapor Chamber technology since hd 3870

I would just CF HD 6870.Oh well,my current hd 6870 is already great for running NFS Hot Pursuit at 1920 x 1080 reso with all maximum settings. Not a single hint of lag, super smooth. Not to mention playing COD 4 with max AA and max settings at 1920 x 1080

Latest NFS Hot Pursuit isn't as resource hunger as NFS Shift, even my 9600GT able to do High settings without AA smooth at 1080p. I think the NFS rely more on CPU of which a normal C2D can do just fine.
And COD4, I can only goes mid settings, which is already quite good consider a low-end 9600GT brows.gif

Fast fast Diablo 3 out then I might grab HD6950, LOL @ my friend's RM1399 HD5870 bought in October.
*
My hd3870 couldnt really do that well on nfs hot pursuit though on COD4 i went up to max settings without any hitch.?
Yeah...u can really LOL ur friend who bought hd 5870 for rm1.4k.didnt he know that hd 6970 coming out?

got jerking issues, fraps reporting 45+fps

but really laggy doh.gif
*
fraps reports mine about 45+ fps with all settings maxed out at 1920x1080 reso.no jerking at all.
I remembered updating Black Ops with a patch which contains optimizations to the game which causes lagging though.

Does it apply to only 6000 series graphic card? Cause in my 5870 I do not have this kind of problem.
*
It did happen when i was using Hd 3870 as well. But after updating Black Ops,things got better from then onwards.
Earlier i played through several missions at B.O ( with HD 6870 ),no such issues.
