XPS 15's screen will be equal to or slightly better than the standard SXPS 16's.

I've got a dilemma on which options to chose and i hope you guys out there could help me. My main purpose of gettin the new xps is for basic usage, sum basic gaming and multimedia entertainment. I've come up to the decision to get the XPS 15 with the i7 ... so heres my dilemma:
1) I want to get the higher resolution (1920x1980) but it is pretty expensive, so is it worth it? 2) The 3 year warranty seems a good option judgin as this is a new product by dell and its reliability is still a question mark... so should i take the 3 years warranty or chose the basic 1 year warranty and chose the higher resolution screen instead? 3) I've read certain reviews highlighted in this forum saying tat the basic 6 cell batt only last very shortly... wats your suggestion? 4) Is the blu ray dvd important for future use? I hope u'll can give me your opinions... thanks... |

Not everybody wants 1080p. If you want it, RM411.
Warranty is better, but expensive. 6 Cell IS very very short for i7 quad. The same battery will give you 4/5 hours with a Core 2 Duo (low clock), it's the i7 quad that is the problem. Do you move around a lot? If you move around a lot, 9 cell adds time but adds weight (kind of conflicting). Do you use Blu Ray? In the future most media will be digital/online, no longer physical. |

if limited budget, for me. I will cut down prc to i5. reason: most of game not really able to utility quad core. unless you're doing video rendering or converting big video. I will ignore blu-ray drive. 4xx+299 budget and top up little bit to get 3years warranty is highly recommended. this is xps, if inspiron i might forgot it.

Warranty is upgradeable in the future, which u cost u slightly higher, but maybe in the future u are thinking of changing d, so i think 1 years is ur choice. 3. 6Cell basically will serve u around 2-3 hours(Core i5/Core i3), Core i7 will approximately 2 hours ++ 4. Blue ray isnt needed la, wanna watch movie, go buy Blue Ray PLayer, laptop blue ray is too sucks for blue ray |

Yes, Blu Ray in a laptop kind of sucks, it may also lag (my systems did).
Warranty, get 3 years, but I'm not sure what the difference is between the RM599 and RM876 versions. 2 Hours with Core i7 quad is possible on full charge, turn down brightness, don't use Wifi unnecessarily. Most people with i7 quad will be plugged in. 9 Cell adds time but adds weight. |

Guys ok it has come down to me getting an offer from the Dell guys with the specs below:
Dell XPS 15 with Intel Core i7 package with add-on of a 9-cell battery, backlit keyboard and 3 years warranty for RM4199... So I need your advice and suggestions whether this is a good offer or I should consider another laptop around that price range with better specs than this? Please don't hold back on your suggestions... give me as many as you guys can or want... Thanks... |

Well mero that's not much of a discount if they gave you the minimal 3 year warranty (XPS Premier, RM599), hence not a great deal.
That is assuming you don't have the B+RGLED and/or Blu Ray drive. Nevertheless it was a slightly good package initially (prior to adding the warranty and keyboard and battery), and it seems cheap because it only comes with stock 1 year warranty. I would not buy it unless I wanted a Core i7 quad, or unless a better discount/deal was given. At this specs, no deal. |

Most importantly is whether u need to bring it out or move around alot.their price and specs are nt a huge diff..... |
