I still don't understand why people still keep posting "language will be a problem", when the topic title clearly stated, play WOWtaiwan by using US client.

And no, trial account don't need any upfront payment, just register an account and you're good to go. smile.gif

for folks who do not know how to read any mandarin, they will have a hard time trying to communicate with the majority of the local taiwan players who only knows how to chat in mandarin lor.

heck, they will even have problem registering an account.

Hey, I'm new here, so I guess I'll introduce myself.

I'm a Chinese American that usually plays WoW on US servers. I can't really write Chinese (though I can speak a little, Mandarin/Cantonese) so I decided to sign up for TW WoW. I'm on the trial, and tomorrow is the last day of my trial. I have 2 toons on TW WoW, a level 13 Worgen Hunter on Lake Wintergrasp and a level 8 Tauren Paladin on Stormscale. I also have a presence here but I just decided to sign up here for teh lulz.

But yeah. I understand minimal Mandarin and when I get my hands on a game card from here in New York, I can lend a hand to you guys.

By playing wowtaiwan using english client, the game itself will be in English, only the interaction with other playes outside the guild will be with mandarin.

Latency connecting to Taiwan is fairly good, 400-600 ms at 11 AM local time (~10 PM in Taiwan). Hurray for high-speed internet! rclxms.gif

400 - 600 ms for wowtaiwan is bad. I would suggest u continue with wow US. u will get something like 50 ms, why wowtaiwan when u have that option?

You are welcome nonetheless, if u insisted.

Cheers

It actually isn't, at least it isn't with my old laptop when I was doing For the Alliance it would be at least 1,000 ms. Celeron mono-core processor inb4 stone age of PCs.

Besides, it's part of a bet with my mom. I told her I'd be fluent in Mandarin by playing the TW localization for 3 years. Now she's paying for both US and TW. rclxm9.gif

You have to understand I'm connecting to a server whose physical location is a 15 hour flight from me.

5 man heroic i think all done. Haven't start 10 man yet.

The guild mostly doing PVP, i guess we are waiting for a second tank to gear up. Healer and dps aplenty, but tank is kind of rare nowadays.

Sad but truth. We got no progression at all. tongue.gif

But pvp wise, 5v5, is 2k++ already, and a few more 3v3 moving up.

Alot of guild mate being casual too.

In a normal night, its around 20 ppl only at once. 90% Malaysian, the rest Thai, China, HK etc.

Server still lock, unable to recruit more.

Only time will tell.

The cruelest of irony. I renewed my US subscription today but then my TW trial ran out of days the same day.

There goes both games at once until I can get the MyCards off TaoBao.
