i just got this lappy 2 days ago and suddenly my ram usage goes up to 1gb in task manager.... read about the abr thingy and those erecovery

downloaded the 32 bit drivers and gonna download 64 bit as well... i wonder if the abr thingy r compatible with other win 7 version? eg, this lappy came with w7 home premium, then i wan to use the ultimate and use abr for those keys and certs.

is that possible?

owh... so vista++ got superfetch... im not a vista++ fan since the usability on them is quite poor especially on the windows explorer

im thinking of reformatting this laptop as well. dunno how to say whether its fast or slow since loading certain application made my system hangs and very laggy

i also not used to the high ram usage especially on win 7 though. as far as i remember xp uses min of 100mb, vista at 500mb... i dunno about win 7 ram usage actually

what do experts say? format or just leave it?

my min ram usage = 1gb
my max ram usage = 1.5gb

oh... this is my first time having win 7 preinstalled on my machine so i dont know much about them especially on high ram usage

still curious that if i format this laptop, will i gain more performance?

i see... im currently downloading it 64 bit, im quite suprised about this machine can take nfs hot pursuit full quality if have a good ventilation

woah... thats 2 times fewer than mine, 107 processes, average is about 104... are u using 64bit?

if i play game with battery inserted, does the batter gets hot during the performance processing?

erm... I wanna ask about certain game problems in this machine, 4820tg,

current spec of my machine is

win 7 64bit
driver ver - from driver dvd
6gb ram

my main issues is, I wanted to play GRID, supreme commander, split second and dead space 2 but apparently, I get render artifacts when playing this games. I heard somewhere in other forums for this solutions but it needs atitools by ray adam installed but it failed to boot my machine due to the driver compatibilities.

is there any solution to these problems?

I tried 3 versions of the drivers, 8.741.1.5,8.741.1.6 and the latest one from acer support center, asia pacific. is it natural for the screen to go blank while installing the driver after uninstalling the previous one and restarts the machine manually?

I'm sorry if I bring this thing up again but I can't seems to find any solutions to this.

but whats the differences between switchable and discrete?

do discrete tend to have a more stable 3d rendering in games?

whats the utility that fits best for win7 to defrag the files? for xp i wouldve been using o&o defragmenter.

i tried putting the graphic mode into switchable, tried the Dead Space 2 on how the graphics since I installed the driver software after switching to discrete, I cant use the switchable mode if i want to play those kinds of games.

I forgot the option that was disabled in the ati hd5k series that could improve the performance but can be enabled by using the atitool by ray adams

currently, there are about 4 games ive detected that cant play well with switchable mode

dead space 2 - medium artifact level, playable but hard to see
gta4 - light artifact level
grid - heavy artifact after the intro video
supreme commander - heavy artifact level once the game started

i wonder why my laptop slow to boot up during the windows logo, maybe its due to the game booster top performance option? going to try out the windows performance toolkit

if u r able to play it means there's no artifact though. i tried it on switchable mode before having game booster, about 4 days before lee told me to put on to discrete mode... how do u know its 11.1? any links that i can download for me to try out as well?

i wonder how can i optimize my machine via the windows performance toolkit wpt?

i installed the ccc11.1 and going to try on the games tomorrow on switchable mode i guess and see if still got an artifacts

its confirmed that i still have an artifacts on dead space 2 even running on ccc11.1, just going to the menu alone u will see that the mouse r stretched out trying to retain its original form...

i still havent revert my pc setting optimized by game booster 2.2 in system tweaks and as for the wpt, i have a slight problem stucked on 2nd step though i will try it again tomorrow when i have time and i fixed it from here

the old dell xps is an epic failure products, always tend to have overheating problems even opening firefox alone...

i removed my game booster just now and my WPT last night,

yes... its already started in windows service but not listed under task manager services and its on automatic. what if this didnt work?
