Both are 2.66Ghz, just that i7 620M has higher turbo boost to 3.33Ghz instead of 2.93GHz (i5 480M)...
But so far, i5 4xxM/5xxM can be overclocked better than i7 6xxM...

SSD would be more appropriate upgrade if want to feel faster...

Well, P6100 only 2.0GHz and no Turbo Boost,no Hyperthreading , so that would be quite a jump..

not even 1 month, thinking of upgrading already?! the current CPU not meeting your requirement? brows.gif

i read from NBR, i5-580m is the preferred choice if u wanna change CPU. they successfully OC to 3.80 Ghz! although some reported generally faster experience (especially copying large file), it won't help you in gaming.

agree with Lee that an SSD should be in your top list. for me, i m still waiting for larger capacity SSD...

any update about your notebook? biggrin.gif how is it treating you so far?

Juz played SC2 for 30 mins with my 4820tg

CPU temperature 88C and 94C for both Cores blink.gif

GPU at 76C

N that was playing it on the laptop cooler pad (Cooler Master Infinite)..

Wonder if it is normal for the CPU to reach up to 94C hmm.gif

My agent is giving me the 520m, but doesn't have the external optical. Wonder if the unit i'm taking is worth it if compared to the 460m+external optical for almost the same price..price difference by rm60 rclxub.gif

Guys,
I really like this laptop( the design).
But I really don't really need such a high spec laptop.
I just use it to surf the web and MS Office.
Is there a similar Acer lappy with same looks in the market?

Many thanks in advance

for me, the little differences in clock speed is not important. i ll get the 520m (even without external optical) any time since i use a lot of VMware. i guess that depends on yourself biggrin.gif i also need to tell you that, i already have external optical drive biggrin.gif
