Hmmm, after reading several reviews of this lappy, I will buy this lappy and join this club! maybe in a few months time. XD

Congrats to those just brought the unit, u deserve this nice little toy for Christmas. Share with us your 3dmark06 score, CPU and GPU temperature, overall opinion on your unit. I am sure it ll help many other to decide if this is a notebook suitable for them.

- Update to latest Acer Driver or find it in www.acer.com.my for your OS, latest should be 8.741.1.6
- Go to BIOS, switch to Discreet graphic
- Install modded Catalyst 10.10e from guru3d (10.10e is actually newer than 10.11)
- Go back to BIOS, switch back to Switchable

I heard that 10.12 for mobile is released, no time to test yet... I am still using the Acer driver. Seem very OK to me.

Added on December 15, 2010, 2:58 pmThey announced it last April 2010 in the paper saying that they will bring the 13" model to Malaysia in a month. I waited till September, finally only the 4820TG with 5650 reached Malaysia. I am totally upset. Don't ever wait for Acer Malaysia anymore...

From what I gathered in this forum, the heat management in 4820tg is comparable to 3820tg. If you look at the review, these are the temp reading:

1. idle - CPU=42, GPU=46
2. heavy - CPU=90, GPU=86

both are very similar to my 3820tg, except my heavy GPU is max at 82. most of the time, heavy GPU stay below 80, in fact, the data i gathered, after GPU reached 77, the GPU fan work extra hard to push it down again. personally, i believe 3820tg should be a little better with 2 fans for air flow left and right of notebook. may be this will be important for extended period of heavy gaming.

but the data show 4820tg heat is comparable to 3820tg. kudos to 4820tg and if u have a cooler, nothing much to worry about

*note* 4820tg has bigger fan too...

Same thing happened to me, waited for the 4820TG with the 5650 since July, and after a month of waiting, ended up getting the one with the 5470 (really need a laptop at that time)

E-mailed them before about when will it be available, never got a proper response from them


EDIT: Done it, but can't open CCC and can't switch graphics.

hi.... do you guise know where is the option to change the speaker config, like 2.1,5.1 thing... it sounds horrible on my atp3 speaker

i think u have previously uninstall the Acer driver! in this case, do this:

1. Set discrete graphics in the BIOS
2. Uninstall all ATI Drivers/utilities
3. Install the new driver from Acer
4. Set back to switchable in the BIOS

Someone from NBR has a similar problem like you, and it was solved.

Modify the processor, mean change the processor from original i5-480m to i7-620m

Why change? Still the same base clock speed...

Is it? will it increase the performance?
