i suppose you can burn the CD to a VirtualCD to create the ISO. then, use a USB tool (http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html) to put it into a USB to make that USB bootable.

never try that before and may not even work  hmm.gif if u get it work, share with us the technique!

actually, you dont need the CD so as long as you did not delete / resize the hidden partition in the hardisk or change the hardisk. you can press Alt-F10 during boot up to restore it to faction.

If i'm buying 3820TG, how do i burn CD? Virtual CD is?

If I wanna do a clean install of win7 later, shall i not delete the hidden partition?

Easiest is to use the external DVD player.

If you want to do a clean install, I recommend NOT to remove the recovery partition. As long as the partition is there, you can restore to factory setting with just Alt-F10. No need recovery CD.

NO. It depends whether the CPU is soldered onto the motherboard (like Atom).

Now I have a question: WOuld changing to SSD void the warranty?

No void of warranty. Good choice! Make sure you read about how to transfer your Windows license to your new HDD. Some info here:

Cool... I haven't bought mine yet, but will do soon smile.gif

Anyone here done the backlit keyboard mod?

Too bad it needs soldering. It would be so cool if someone could come up with a plug n play kit.

If you like to watch movies and play games, the a bigger screen would be better.
About the heat, I think a laptop cooler would do the trick.

I like the new one which is flat when not in use. Recently I found out that it's not just the size, but if it is slim and flat, I can store it easier anywhere.

I found Thundermatch actually has a display unit of Anywhere MX905 which I can touch... it's superb quality as expected from Logitech, but it's not as comfortable as MX950 (bigger)... and 1 more thing I dont like is the wheel... it was designed to be able to scroll sideways, but its too loose (for me). So, the feel of the wheel is like flimsy. I still like the 'free' scroll feature, and the metal in the wheel add 'momentum' to the feel, which i like...

Found the Arc Touch mouse too.. but they wont open it for me to 'feel' it with my hand... duh....

And... finally, I brought the Arc Touch mouse!!! May be because I really want to know how it feel like! My previous mouse is the older gen of Arc Touch, but I lost the damn USB receiver... so far so good... light and portable is important for me...

The new Arc Touch mouse look and feel even more 'exclusive' than the older Arc Mouse (which made mostly with plastic). The part that you gota bend is covered with very smooth, yet rubber like material which is good to touch. The touch strip in the middle which replaced a wheel is interesting. Although it is a touch sensitive area, it work exactly like a wheel, only better! I can now scroll effortlessly with just my finger tips. It even vibrate a little when I scroll with the touch strip, feel very much like the real wheel.

I have 1 problem though and this is bad... cry.gif I got so used to small mouse, i think the left and right buttons are a little too far for my finger! I like to hold the mouse with my palm on the table, not on the mouse. I can move the mouse faster and easier that way... but this mouse, i need to move my palm slightly higher on the mouse to have a comfortable left and right click... perhaps if u have longer fingers, u wont have this problem.

The clicking of those buttons are 'high-quality'; no loud sound and gap is not wide. However, it feel slightly 'harder' to click than the old mouse... again, may be it's my finger position.

Anyway, the touch strip works really nice. The ability to use it with just finger tips (i mean really really light touch) feel really good... Damn, now I am wondering if the Ms Touch Mouse will be a good idea... the whole surface of the mouse is touch sensitive!

3820tg definitely has better heat management. but so far no overheating issue reported in 4820tg as well.

4820tg only has 0.7" (diagonally) larger screen than 3820tg... for me, there is no difference when viewing movie. u can always move the notebook a little closer to you if you want a bigger screen!

although the screen size differences is really little, but 3820tg, without the dvd and smaller dimension, making it more portable.

on a side note, in the 14" segment, there are plenty of choice... but 13" and below notebook with powerful GC? not many... nod.gif

hey bro! i just got back from Lowyat tongue.gif

For Catalyst 11.2, I recommend to set AI to Advanced, Enable Surface Format Optimization.

Try to enable MLAA (Mophological filtering) to improve the image quality. Once enable MLAA, you may want to disable AA in the game setting to improve speed.

If still too slow, disable MLAA loh...

*sob* I cant get MLAA working in my unit, check if you have this option:
