I'm upgrading from using a S-series (PowerShot S80, ancient blush.gif to the latest G-series...I am still learning. Getting to know the camera and it's limitations. I am impress by how beautiful the photos are at high ISO. Took a few test shots, but none worthy yet to post here as "poison" tongue.gif

The accessories I am waiting for are the underwater housing WP-DC44, extra battery, and the lens adapter 58mm Canon FA-DC58C.

Happy Shooting!

for macro G12 is about 15mm (correct me if i m wrong), quite useful sometime...

But as G1X have bigger sensor, the lens on G1X have limited. So just shoot at 20mm then zoom in at PC or crop at Full Size...which is also a good solution.

i think i have introduced this method b4 in previous post.

of course not for pocketable, looking stg tat can give quality image....
going to backpacking....DSLR is little too 'huge' for me....so wish to grab 1 compact camera...n hope tat wat im choose not going to be a decision tat make me regret...haha

Ofcoz the G1X or G12 will suit ur backpacking trip... i spend 6 months with my G12 at NZ Backpacking...

G12 is working great in NZ...portable...long battery life....image quality....so much....JUST LOVE IT....

Compare to my friend (backpack with me), who is new to camera but carry DSLR, during the trip, he is like turn on and off...without shooting too many photo...and battery gone soon ( bcoz always playing around with the setting but not taking photo)

ehh you're missing the point.

Sure, I've been using that cropping work around for my many of my shots but the reason people buy it at 14MP is to use the 14MP, not to shoot the subject and have a huge area around it and having to crop. smile.gif

Seafood Spaghetti served with shrimps and sliced vegetables. smile.gif Well that's what I named it but it's actually Bistro Shrimp & Asparagus Pasta from TGIF - new dish that would be available soon.

Guess what - photo was taken with Powershot G1 X at ISO 1600! This is not even a studio setup. It was just a food tasting session. I spent only 3 minutes there with 9 dishes on the table, got 3 nice pics and all the submitted 3 got accepted. wink.gif

And 2 others are

How about you just read it a few pages back?

It's already launched, price is about RM 2.2k range.

comments also provided in past few pages, unless you have more specific to ask.

Btw, can I know where were u got ur G1X and what is the price??
Sorry for telling that I'm just a beginner for photography.. And I'm going to UK to study on May, so I'm thinking to buy a camera which is not as heavy/huge as dslr, but can take quality photos..

Any comment and comparison for the CANON G1X and the Nikon 1??

Thanks =)
