Just visited a store with N8 stock, only silver and dark gray. They sell at RM1780, Avaxx 1 yr warranty. But i asked, "Not RM1690??", they hahaha and say RM1700 best price. Comes with free Nokia Spine case, wall plug and car charger.

The phone really lovely but no blue color. They say it's childish

The user purposely did this if I'm not mistaken.I doubt this kind of damage caused by "accident".

pirateguy, may i know where u read that BLUE version is Made in Finland? Now i even more psyched towards it lol. Already got sick with all the typical silver, black and white color. IIRC, there's no Msia BLUE version for firmware under Navifirm which might confirmed it.

And that nokia spine case really useless and ugly. Only good thing bout it is to hide the sirim/warranty seals.

One thing I noticed is that this dark gray one was made in China while the eval unit was made in Finland. I really wanted one made in Finland since it seems more “Nokia” if it is built in the home country. Oh well, I can’t swap the blue one for the gray one.

There is something to be said about Nokia vs the other phone manufacturers. I'm not saying that Nokia is perfect in this regard, but it's the only manufacturer I know that regularly comes out with firmware for their more popular models and supporting it until it's EOL. A few of my experiences :-

1. XpressMusic 5310, i think, the slim XpressMusic phone - A firmware update manages ton increase the volume of the speakers, which was quite soft before.

2. The update that turned N95 from disaster to popular.

3. The endless E71 updates.

Based on that track record, I think Nokia is going to improve the whole N8, seeing it as the flagship model that's supposed to replace N97 with regular firmware updates. Good thing is they have a knack of putting upgrades that visibly improve the phone's function.

Am i correct to set the following:
Switch to WLAN to Manual
Data use in home network to WLAN only
Data use when roaming to WLAN only
so that the app/device wont charge my credit and use only Wifi?
(i m using prepaid)

guys can anyone tell me about the garmin maps for N8 where can i download cracked.. and cracked games too for N8??

The photo I edited with 'auto enhance colour' mode to make the picture look more clear; Basically, on the N8, you can see "layering", which is especially obvious on the black colour blending to other colours, you can see layers, which is in pixels. Not really sure how to explain technically.
I tried viewing the same picture on the N900 and it looks normal unless I put the brightness to maximum, then I can see some layering, but still not as bad as my N8.

Anybody have N8 care to try to put the picture on your device and view it?

I search through the settings, there is no way to adjust the colours or contrast, or other display settings; only have light sensitivity, which is brightness I suppose?
On camera mode, I notice the brightness/contract is high so if I'm in a room, I will notice the quality on the display isn't good, but the image if display on PC looks normal. I adjust the contrast to lowest and the display much better. Hm.... 

I think one of the ranger did a reset and the "special" apps provided/pre-installed were gone.

If confirm others have no such problem, then I think my 2nd last resort is to do a factory reset; When all else fail, will need to send N8 to Nokia ICU already.

hi, my n8 always  connect  to  internet  using  wifi  la,  i  already  set  widget  offline  mode  and  wlan  scanning  off,  but  still  it  connect  to  my  home  wfi  automatically,  takut  drain  batt  faster  la.  anyone  can  help?

I know there are many methods (eg. close unused apps, disconnect ..etc) but I still prefer if n8 standard battery 1200mAh with a 1500mAh battery ?

If 3G icon shown, it meant your phone currently under 3G connection. For both VOICE and DATA connection. Once you start using DATA connection, sometimes it will drop to EDGE or GPRS if weak signal.
