anyway, u booked during the softlaunch? what about all u guys, perhaps we can share our booking date? just to see who get what first tongue.gif

as for me, i've booked on the day of the softlaunch, black 2.0..been following up with SA, but no real indication of delivery date yet..the best he can give was "a week after formal launch"

I'm not around for just a day, and suddenly people without either of the cars make sounds? laugh.gif

hehehehe...yes bro..somehow or rather things got veered offtopics...

okay brothers & sisters, lets move along..dont feed the trolls in this forum..keep things strictly constructive/informative/witty/funny/entertaining...no more politics or rhetorics...for those who insist of voicing those boring stuff, please feel free to keep it to yourself tongue.gif or go to kopitiam sections & create own thread there...

i think the majority of the soon to be inspira owners here already use/own multiple cars, all matured adult..so, bottom line is, we buy the inspira because we want one, we are well informed and known all the pro's & con's of owning a car...please dont come here sounding like mr.know it all because thats purely rhetorics, tax lar, cheap cars lar, better future lar (how does proton/car tax effect our children future?)..by all mean, go bark somewhere else...nothing is perfect in this world, give or take, one thing cheap, other things expensive..open your eyes, open you mind..malaysia is a great country, be thankful..

anyway, anybody else got an actual date of their car delivery? and does the price revision confirmed?

guys im sory if i ask this Q , but ive search around still can't find the answer

basically i want to recommend the forte to my mum, since the inspira going to lounch in a few days i tought mayb i can be patient a bit.

the Q is.. what is the main difference between the forte n inspira?

this is what i read from some of the forums (correct me if im wrong)

forte 2.0 features

1) got on/off 'start button'
2)17" rims???
3) engine??
4) FC?? full tank can go how far if +- hiway/town
inspira 2.0

1) tripitonic (dis is really good deals)
2) dont know about the sizes of the rims
3) MIVEC (good factor)
4) not available yet

can u all list more about the features both for this 2 cars, thanx in advance
p/s: i dont know it is right or wrong, but my heart is on the inspira side smile.gif
*
Forte 2.0 features

1) got on/off 'start button' - inspira probably dont have this
2)17" rims??? - not sure, most likely inspira 16", but wait until 10 Nov for for actual Inspira specs
3) engine?? - it does have the same cyclinder block..but difference maybe on the head & crankcase
4) FC?? full tank can go how far if +- hiway/town - probably owner of this car can give a review, for inspira, again, hav to wait for actual model due to differences of specs & accessories

Inspira 2.0 features

1) tripitonic (dis is really good deals) - CVT gearbox with virtual 6speed, seamless & supposedly more efficient, against forte 4speed torque converter gearbox
2) dont know about the sizes of the rims - again, 10 Nov we'll get the answer
3) MIVEC (good factor) - variable valve timing on both intake & exhaust valve/ports
4) not available yet - just 5 days to go!

** independent rear suspension against forte torsion beam rear suspension..basically torsion beam is where both wheel attached to a single steel beam, what one side does, the other side of the car will have the opposite reaction, meaning the will be a swaying effect/body roll..reason manufacter use torsion beam bcoz its cheaper..

that sure is one thick tyre tongue.gif

not to doubt u or anything, but if im not mistaken from previous pics posted, the tyre use was 205/60/16...only the final launch specs will answer all this i suppose...

wait a minute...this pics in autoworld ;

http://autoworld.com.my/emzine/vimage/show...ch.&T=undefined

it uses 18" rim..same as lancer GT...why would proton test 18" if they not putting it on the inspira..could it be 2.0 will have 18 inchers?

so fast go up genting? i was thinking after the 1000km service then only go up genting... don't want to stress the engine so early...  hmm.gif
*
yeah, cannot stress the engine more then 3000rpm while in run-in period..well..perhaps balik kampung first for Eid-Adha..back & forth & normal daily commute, 1st service should be in 2weeks after getting the car i guess...hehehe

for inspira, to get 110km/h, wat is the rpm? mine waja is 2900rpm.
*
i was informed that for 2.0 cvt, 110km/h only slighty more then 2000rpm (due to the virtual gearing ratio optimization)..for 1.8 manual, 110km/h around 3000rpm on 5th gear (still, due to the gearing ratio)..

correct me if anybody else have other/updated informations...

magnesium quite easy oxide,right ?

I remember 15 years car magazine back, the ferrari 456??? ,blue color one....2 doors but 4 seats using magnisium as sport rims.

They do mentioned magnesium is taut, strength and light. But problem is oxide.
*
all elements in this world will oxidise..

i guess the actual question was is the inspira paddleshifter are exactly the same as in lancer GT..or isit plastic instead..

damn it bhp lower  and torque also lower
*
hrmm..its really weird..since that the engine & ecu tuning are not been changed in any way by proton..i guess they just quoted the minimum power & torque figures

"typical" 4B11 Specifications

Engine type Inline 4 cylinder DOHC 16v, MIVEC
Displacement 2.0 L (1998 cc)
Bore 86 mm
Stroke 86 mm
Compression ratio 10:1
Fuel system ECI multiple

Peak power 108-114 kW (147-155 PS) at 6000 rpm
Peak torque 198 N·m (146 ft·lbf) at 4250 rpm

so far so good....am wondering where the other 50kg went to for 2.0 variant.

perhaps due to less accessories such airbags & such?

or change of certain parts with lighter high tensile steel (my speculation only)...

but less weight is good!
