You can stick to 3.6Ghz but still aint that vCore is high?

Anyway, you manually overclock it or u use some sort of "auto overclocking" function?

It is safe at 1.65V

But if you intend to push the volt higher, make sure you have proper cooling on it smile.gif

i using phenom II X4 955 and asus M4A77TD
so i need to overclock using amd overdrive or oc in bios?
*
It would be better if you start with BIOS.But you can try the AMD Overdrive.

Have you read the guide @ 1st page?

Anyway is there really a difference in Server to Desktop Processor?

What makes confusion is,some motherboard has different names compared to other motherboard.

Example :

CPU-NB Vid can also be called as XX.XX

Thats what makes people confuses with NB Voltage.

yeah. i successful oc to 4018.8Mhz
but how can i check my processor temperature?
i use HWMonitor. it show 0.
*
How come it is 0?You unlock your proc meh?I assume u are not.

If it shows zero, then see the CPU Temperature and not the Core Temperature.

QUOTE(kuntawakaw @ Dec 18 2010, 10:01 PM)
agree..but if u familiar with em, no prob d
cpu-nb stock at 1.1v / 1.175v
nb stock at 1.12v for most mobo i believe..

the one that making confusion is the CPU-vid  (cpu controlled )and cpu voltage (motherboard controlled)
*
It might not be confused for us but newcomer will confused about it.
There are also some RAM related Vid that i dont understand doh.gif

Expect RM3K++ procs from AMD as well?
*
Maybe yes maybe not.AMD got said, eventhough they release FX variants there will still a mainstream parts. So no worries actually.

But from the point branding "FX",it means AMD is already speculating/expecting that their new Bulldozer should perform as good as Intel.

What i like is the "FX" suffix.I wish to have it to,its just nice.Just like some of us here like the processor detected as AMD Opteron brows.gif

Nah you can lap a die fine. This chip died from a pressure crack from mounting a cooler too tight.
*
Maybe next time you should buy the rubber thingg that was use in Athlon XP Era to reduce the pressure.

the black one.I think in that way can at least reduce pressure.

QUOTE(verdict @ Jan 4 2011, 06:26 PM)
Rumour: AMD to revive "FX" branding with Bulldozer

"AMD's Bulldozer is set to receive the "FX" branding, which has been absent since the Athlon 64 FX-70 back in 2006, according to DonanimHaber. The flagship 4-module, 8-core CPU Zambezi will be branded as Vision Black FX. 4-core and 6-core Bulldozer CPUs will be branded as Ultimate Vision FX.

In the past, AMD's "FX" branding was an equivalent to Intel's "Extreme Edition" moniker. The resulting products are flagships with unlocked multipliers and exorbitant ~$1000 price tags. However, since the onslaught of Intel's "Core" CPUs, AMD has been restricted to the <$300 market, with no FX CPUs. Bulldozer is AMD's most major architectural change since K8 in 2003, and arguably since K7 in 1999. Judging by the rumoured branding, it is entirely possible that the branding will be radically altered as well, with "FX" not signifying the high-end, extreme performance (and price tag) as it did in AMD's glory days. However, DonanimHaber does indicate that AMD are confident of Bulldozer's performance. Whether it will be a match for Intel's Gulftown (let alone the 8-core Sandy Bridge CPU) remains to be seen.

Bulldozer is set to release with a new platform based around AMD's upcoming 900 series chipset. While previously expected to be AM3 compatible, Bulldozer is now based on an pin-compatible AM3+ platform. Current AM3 Athlon/Phenom CPUs will be compatible with the 900 series, although there is no solid information of the level of compatibility of Bulldozer with previous AM3 motherboards. Certainly, some features will be disabled, at least.

AMD is expected to release Bulldozer in Q2 2011."

btw, wat's the procedure to RMA with AMD?
*
Its easy, head to AMD website, register with them(for ur name..etc info) then attach a word document stating ur spec and problems and date of purchase..etc
Send to their email, wait for their approval. Then ship your processor with CODE given on your email.

EG: on your Shipping package put *XX123853Code*
