Anyone know the AMD 900 series mobo will get UEFI support or not?
just got dual 2TB of WD black but cannot set as boot drive if formatted with GPT(GUID Partition Table, the only way to 100% utilize HDD more than 2.2TB).

old BIOS only support MBR disk but will stuck at 2.2TB + problematic sweat.gif

UEFI depends on mobo manufacturer not AMD smile.gif

9 series is expected to be released/showcased in CeBit (1-3 March) nod.gif
*
IF AMD didnt adopt it you will never see UEFI-enabled AMD mobo from the mobo maker liao sweat.gif
I really hope the next gen mobo will support UEFI, i wanna oc with mouse! click click click! rclxm9.gif

wiki

it is independent of cpu etc....means depends on mobo manufacturer la bro whether they want to use it or not
*
I never said UEFI is dependent on CPU on my previous post, is depend on chipset thats why im asking the mobo, not CPU sweat.gif
800 series chipset may support hdd over 2.2TB because the sata driver support 64bit LBA, the only things missing is the UEFI AMD mobo doh.gif

Actually its possible, coz instead of losing market to their competitor IF BD is as good they claiming it can help they gain somemore inroads to die hard amd users i think laugh.gif
*
They should have done that long time ago, since running SLI does not require any special chip on mobo doh.gif which is same as hybrid phsyX, and Crossfire iirc.
They could earn alot of big cash of they were not that stupid and narrow minded.

Plus not every AMD mobo user like to use amd gpu for each upgrade. sometimes nvidia gpu is quite attractive too, eg the gtx460 SLI rclxms.gif

Just asking, what kind of FANS you ladies are using?
why you wanna use that kind of fan and are u ruuning of full blast or controlled by cpu or fan controller?

ive been keep changing casing fan since i know how to oc sweat.gif
From Gelid fans > SFLEX G > AVC 2800rpm > Nmb Mat 4000 rpm fans sweat.gif
this NMB MAT fans is great, now my temp LOWERED alot, max temp decreased 7 c but its hard to control and it sounds like my pc is going fly off doh.gif
P.S> sorry for off topic lol

U mean for the cpu hsf or case fan? laugh.gif
For my hsf i used to use the bling2 xigmatek fan but they push little air sweat.gif
Right now using combo of scythe & noctua fan, temp is just nice to me smile.gif
*
both sweat.gif
I do have noctua and sflex, but noctua is a silent type fan, sflex G is too noisy at full blast.

what cooler you using? what are the temps now? run @ OC + 100% load all the time?
*
Venomous X, temp idle at 33, load at 41c, yeah i run 3.9ghz all the time even downloading torrent overnight sweat.gif
at full load the fan still not reach the highest speed, it runs at 2800rpm unless i disable the fan controlling.
normally it goes up to 48c when using SFLEX G or the avc 2800rpm fans.
it looks like thick fan really push alot of air or may be the static pressure is better than normal 25mm fans.

wafor u run @ 3.9 all the time? just enable CnQ 41/48C considered good adi..
*
I have tried CnQ + oc, its never stable, im not sure why. thats why im forced to run 3.9g all the time sweat.gif
Btw i just realized shit happened on my mobo, the HTT was revered to default clock, thats why the temp dropped so much, just raised back the HTT clocks, the temps only improved by 1c and more annoying fan noise doh.gif
Yeah i installed those high speed fan is just want to kacau my roommate-from-hell thumbup.gif
