AMD FM1 Socket, Package Pictured

Here are some of the first pictures of AMD's new socket FM1. FM1 will be the platform for AMD's upcoming "Llano" A-Series accelerated processing units (APUs), in the desktop and notebook platforms. With it, AMD will compete with Intel's LGA1155/LGA1156 processors in consumer and business desktop markets that simply rely on the processor's embedded graphics. The Llano APU integrates a quad-core x86-64 processor with a DirectX 11 compliant AMD Radeon HD 6000 series graphics core (with 400+ stream processors, last we heard); a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller, and a PCI-Express 2.0 hub. FM1 is a pin-grid array, but its exact pin count isn't known. Purely by the looks of it, FM1 package looks smaller than AM3+. Clearly the version of CPU-Z used in the screenshot doesn't fully support the APU, but it does reveal some information. It's reading the quad-core chip as four single core processors with 1 MB L2 cache each. The processor is clocked at 2.4 GHz. Llano APUs are expected to make landfall in May/June.

Btw, Specs as follows;

1055T
CM Hyper 212
MSI 790FX GD70 - ( This 1 bought 2nd hand from another LYN forumer )
8GB Kingston value RAM.

He asked me to help him OC his 1055T a little bit and so I OC'ed it to 3.2Ghz. Bump the Vcore to 1.4v.
Push the NB to 230Mhz and added 0.2v to the CPU-NB voltage.
Can't remember I OC'ed DDR3 to how many Mhz but its definitely higher than stock 1333Mhz   Stock Timing.
Have Primed it for 1.5 hours and everything seems fine. The CPU temp didn't even reach 50c. Damn the casing have good air circulation......And Hyper 212 is really good for tis price

Marketing BS does not necessary mean lies. They just gives you figures or details that doesn't really mean much and do heavy promotion on these details to differentiate themselves.
If ur really upset with the word BS then I apologize to you. But to me, that's what they are.

I can't believe we are arguing about sockets. They don't really make much difference to the overall performance sumore...
And since u say those manufacturers are not stupid then I wanna confirm something, Asrock says that AM3+ sockets have 11% bigger holes than AM3. Based on that we can assume that BD has bigger pins, if not why make bigger holes. But then again, if BD has bigger pins, it surely won't fit into AM3 sockets.
But since manufacturers has BD on their hands and like u said, have tried them before, they surely know about this "FACT" rite. Then why do they still come out with statements like AM3 mobo with BIOS upgrade will be able support AM3+ BD?
Don't tell me bigger pins can fit into smaller holes...I believe u have swap so many procs that u can tell it won't. And if BD pins are the same size as current Phenom line, then why market AM3+ has bigger socket holes?

why you wanna use that kind of fan and are u ruuning of full blast or controlled by cpu or fan controller?

From Gelid fans > SFLEX G > AVC 2800rpm > Nmb Mat 4000 rpm fans
this NMB MAT fans is great, now my temp LOWERED alot,max temp decreased 7 c but its hard to control and it sounds like my pc is going fly off

1. i would suggest 1.45v for 24/7, personally i prefer to keep it < 1.4v
2. look for cpu temp, usually core temp gives lower temp (& inaccurate imo)
3. depends on ya cpu clock, for 3.8GHz or slightly above, i'd say 2.6GHz nb freq is suffice.
4. i would say 1.3v for 24/7, high nb volt might degrade ya chip/imc. high imc volt oso lead to higher cpu temp.
5. keep it @ 2k~2.5K, unlike nb freq, high ht link not not always contribute to better performance.
