Dear all, i had tried to search those whole thread, i doesn't able to find any solution on this, hope someone can help to answer, kindly please direct me to the correct page if i miss the part...

with the OCBC titanium card, i understands 5% goes to most bill.
Does autodebit gives the 5% too? (not register through OCBC)
For example, i register my digi, astro as well as telekom through the respective shops/centre.

Many thanks.
*
Maybe your keyword and search method is not so efficient. You should search using "Show results as posts" and put as specific keywords as possible.

I remember this has been discussed before. Anyway, yes autodebit does give you 5% but there might be exception.
Why I say exception is because if the telco is somehow using different MCC for auto payment system, you may not get 5%. So far, there is no complaint from forumers as far as I can remember. Paying some bills that is listed in OCBC internet banking entitled you to get 8% (until 31 Dec and the extra 3% will be credited to your account next year, there is capped also).

I guess this has to do with the merchant and not the bank's fault. If i'm not mistaken, the bank has already transferred the money to the merchant. Therefore, HSBC cannot reverse the charges until the merchant refund the money to HSBC.
*
I'm not sure whether the bank has really transfered the money to the merchant or not. Logically it should have.
However, I have experience once before where there is a dupplicate internet transaction at the beginning of the month using SCB card. I only notice it at the end of the month. Call the CS, they check the system and refund the money within a week without filling the dispute form. I can say it is very efficient for that and hassle free.

rec a notification from OCBC verifying my 1st transaction

i wud say, they play safe game.
*
Normally bank will send a notification letter for your 1st transaction. Some banks even allow you to set sms notification for any transaction (foc), SCB for example.

QUOTE(erry- @ Nov 5 2010, 06:31 PM)
same as ck3lam, i also recommend u OCBC Titanium. but minimum income must be 36k per year, 5% rebate on all petrol.
if not, go to cimb direct access mastercard, min 30k per year, but MUST HAVE degree/above qualification, 2% rebate on all petrol.
both card capped rebate at rm50 per month. but i dont think any1 will use petrol for rm2500 per month?
*
RM2.5k only valid for CIMB, OCBC is RM1k.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Nov 5 2010, 07:17 PM)
Maybank has reduced the income requirement for their Petronas VISA Platinum from RM100k to RM60k only >
*
As more and more cards are offering 5% rebate for petrol, 5x points isn't enough. Lower requirement hope to attract more customers.

QUOTE(Chester @ Nov 5 2010, 08:06 PM)
Hi there, thanks!! Am kind of happy with SCB so far. Get 2 x free sony camera and 1 ipod shuffle from them this year. Kinda make me a loyal customer already but will look around. Just want to have a nicer looking card, nothing else  laugh.gif
*
Yea, can't wait for next year guaranteed contest again. Btw, just wondering whether you receive the 5% cashback promotion notification from SCB?

u mean i wont get the money back if the merchant refuse to pay the bank?? what need i do??  icon_question.gif  do i need to report to BNM?? it's quite a lot of money to me  icon_question.gif
*
I think you will still get it back as you only sign for one transaction, just it may take longer time to refund back to you (like the CS said, 2~3 months). Interest may be charged during this period. I have encountered a refund that took 1/2 year by a bank (long story...).

QUOTE(bingozero @ Nov 6 2010, 04:13 AM)
Did citibank card accept for online purchase?
*
All cards accept online purchases (some online purchase in other countries like US may require a valid US address for shipping, but there are still ways to get it to be delivered to M'sia), just some banks adopt the added security feature like 3D Secure (by Visa) and SecureCode (by Mastercard). I think Citibank doesn't adopt this enhancement as I can't recall there is any 3D Secure authentication when purchase online.

Since you said you are a loyal customer, then most probably the Nov cashback promotion is simply a random selection.

SCB won't extend this promotion to JustOne customers. I was told that the invitation was sent to those new customers who refused to use their cards after receiving the cash as welcome gift for quite some time.
*
Well, I only stop using it in Sept and Oct (Replace by OCBC Ti). I spent a lot during Jul and Aug promotion. Am I consider as an inactive cardholder?

QUOTE(de.crystal @ Nov 8 2010, 05:03 PM)
I hardly use SCB, why is it not applicable to me?
i suppose that's promotion is to make the inactive users to start using it and ultimately, "addicted" to it by when, the promotion will end.
*
Mm...basically I’ll use that card if there is any great promotion going on. After Nov, I guess I’ll put it back to the fridge until the next promotion coming up.

Didn't expect so. Ha, 100yen is also considered as supermarket category? Jusco is so big but it's not entitled for 5% sad.gif .
I wonder whether Neway is also same.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Nov 14 2010, 12:13 PM)
I myself was also surprised to find out a pharmacy at Dataran Sunway falls in 5% category. It was Alpha Pharmacy. Hence, forummers who stay in Kota d'sara are advised to patronize this shop instead of Guardian/watsons which are uncertain of 1%/5% rebate.
*
I think those pharmacy inside the hypermarket is also be 5%.

Talking about the card design, I wonder there is any copyright for card design or not. For example, a You:nique card that copy the design of a VI card. hmm.gif

Wow! I was not aware that some ESSO/MOBIL stations give x2 points. That's an extra 3% cash back man! Any idea where else ESSO/MOBIL stations give x2 points?
*
I wanted to tell about this but hesitate because it’s not really CC related.  Anyway just FYI, Esso stations at Grand Saga always have this kind of promotion (Yes, it’s a promotion and not permanent 2x). You will get 2x points if monthly petrol above RM200 (if I remember correctly, actually glance through only). Plus you get a free tissue box. Heard this promotion is going to end soon (year end maybe).
Of course this is a great promotion if you stay in Kajang.

Yup, I also do the same. The mind needs to do a quick analysis to decide which card to use at the merchant. Sometimes the best card to use was being left in the freezer. doh.gif Can't afford to go back and take it. biggrin.gif

Based on your detail description, even if you didn't say you stay in kajang, it is obvious that you stay around there. rclxms.gif Swipe at pump also can, just show them your receipt.

I think no one has ever tried it yet. You may not get the rebate as that may consider as departmental purchase. You want to be the first one?
Normally I only purchase directly from the supermarket of what I need even at the last weekend and still get the rebates.

I think you maybe hard to get answer here as not many frequent forumers holding Ambank card over here (based on their discussion topics). Instead of Jusco, go to C4, Tesco or Giant to purchase those stuff at 1st weekend. Very high chance to get 20% cashback. Only RM400 spent.

I asked this question to CS few months ago, and they are not very sure that time.
Maybe you can call CS again?

Guys I wanna apply for one credit card, with only one condition that RM50 waived

any recommend?

some brief personal...

My Salary 2.6
LibilityLoan - Car loan about 500 per mth
PTPTN - RM 100++ per mth

Thats it

Thanks in advanced ^^
*
Regardless what benefits the card has? Or any card that doesn't suit your lifestyle as long as RM50 is waived?
I think these are also things you need to consider.

A lot of people here is holding DA card as it is free for life (I think you are eligible as you have PTPTN). But I'm not sure whether they will waive the RM50 GST for first time application or not. I believe someone can answer that.

Different saying but serve the same purpose. Maybe the bank cannot say GST waived (so they use the word ‘rebate’), but to us, it is like GST waived.

NO and NO. PTPTN is not the requirement but DEGREE. studying diploma also can apply PTPTN.

Opps…you are right about PTPTN, studying diploma also can apply. Maybe I jump into conclusion too fast. Since this is his first CC application and his salary is considered high for a new guy (also I assume as he asked general question). So I thought he might be holding a degree.

Mm...this doesn't look like Citi. Normally they will offer you if you swipe certain amount or few times within weeks, they will waive the Annual fees and give you cash rebate.

But I think these kind of co-brand cards will 'die' very soon, as it cannot beat certain cashback card.
