Damn! I've got an answer today. This promotion is only for selected SCB cardholders who rarely use their SCB cards. It is unfair to existing active customers. You are lucky receiving this invitation.
*
next time swipe 12k in 2-3 swipes and keep JustOne away for the rest of the year, maybe then we'll get invited laugh.gif

SCB won't extend this promotion to JustOne customers. I was told that the invitation was sent to those new customers who refused to use their cards after receiving the cash as welcome gift for quite some time.

Has your JustOne cc already hit the annual cash back limit too? tongue.gif

OCBC Titanium is the only card I can use now but it has also hit the monthly cash back cap for the 5% category. It will be timely if SCB could give me 5% cash back now. I am now forced to reuse my Amex Gold cc for petrol and grocery purchase.
*
i have not hit the limit yet
been using PBB card for few months to maximise the cash rebates brows.gif
and also AMEX Gold for petrol on non friday - since paid GST for the yr oledi

But you would need to be careful a bit with PBB cc as there is always a maximum cash back pool per month. I'll terminate my Amex Gold cc by mid next year since not much attractiveness from Amex nowadays.
*
yup, last year still can get full rebates even swipe at the end of the month
these few months can't get full rebates anymore, guess more and more ppl are using pbb cards now

In addition to alexwsk's recommendation, I would like to say something but it is purely my own opinion only.

Isn't Alliance Younique considered a Gold cc?

3) Titanium Card = OCBC Titanium / SCB JustOne; tie, both are equally good
4) Platinum Card = Alliance Platinum / SCB Business Platinum / AMEX Platinum Charge Card (assuming AF is waiveable)
5) Visa Signature = <can't find a good one at this moment>
6) Visa Infinite = SCB VI
7) World MasterCard = Maybank WMC (assuming AF is waiveable)
*
Younique's min income requirement is only 18k, so shud be in classic category
thought of JustOne, but no longer accept app biggrin.gif

I had owned Alliance Younique before. It was shown as Gold cc in the statement.
*
ic

1) Classic Card = Hong Leong Essential
2) Gold Card = Alliance Younique, AMEX Gold Credit Card
3) Titanium Card = OCBC Titanium
4) Platinum Card = Alliance Platinum / SCB Business Platinum / Citibank Cash Back Platinum / AMEX Platinum Charge Card (assuming AF is waiveable)
5) Visa Signature = EON VS
6) Visa Infinite = SCB VI
7) World MasterCard = Maybank WMC (assuming AF is waiveable)

might add this to the 1st post, then less ppl will ask what is the best card laugh.gif

Sorry sir, not able to assist you, I also want to know anybody else got points from MBB to offset GST.

I myself would have to pay RM50 GST to MBB soon as they have approved my re-application for Petronas Plat.

I only read in this thread once where a member got extra points to offset the GST.

Reason I getting MBB again is because next year onwards will be travelling more often overseas.

it's out in the news now -
Banks wage credit card wars

if not for the 15% AMEX campaign which I've oledi swiped, i'll call them up and cancel the card and see whether they gv me 10k points

CIMB has not joined the fray yet. But CIMB has successfully gained its market share by simply increasing CL and approving premium cards like WMC and VI.
Somebody here mentioned that MBB offered him free 10,000 points to offset the service tax when he intended to terminate his card.

will try that once i've received all my 15% cash back brows.gif

QUOTE(hye @ Nov 23 2010, 06:57 PM)
Gentlemen

Can we be more careful about using the term "threatening" the banks when it come to the GST subject? Already there has been a reader who want to only apply a card with the GST "waived" or else. And slowly the past few replies have been circling around "threatening" the banks to waive the GST.

IMHO ... I don't think we are setting the right example here in this forum and let's be more responsible for what we say. This thread was originally created to educate reader on good credit card consumer management and definitely not how to arm twist the banks about getting your own way. I have no issues about getting our value for money but to this extent then I don't think it's appropriate anymore.
well, there's a few cases where it didn't work
