did any of you get a free golf sized umbrella when u bought the teana ah ?
coz my friend told me she got her free umbrella when she purchased and it was almost the same time as me.

Its normal everyone purchased the car with different price and gift. Some got 1K discount and some got 5K discount, some got free gift, some are not. An umbrella also want to ask ?

Seem like not much nissan drivers sharing here :-( Bought Teana 2+ month ago. Having 2.0 luxury Grey. Love it! Don't feel underpower. Overtake smoohtly. Car not quiet as mention on other review. Still have tyre and wind noise in cabin but outer sound like bump or vehicle noise do not intrude into the car. does feel quiet and bored a bit. Conversation with passangers was great. Test drive at taiping-lumut with heavy rain some location. Drive was stable and comfort even on snake mountain road. Pick up was easy and drive at 130~140. Never try till limit bcos engine does sound a little odd aboe 170. Smooth drive at 160 during at highway. Anyway, it consumes oil like milk(hisap kuat) if drive above 140. I not sure it is normal for 2.0 car, I used to own wira. I sat latest honda accord as rear passanger before, really don't feel as comfort as this 1. I do feel leather seat a bit hard than cushion.
Feel great on this teana and thanks Mr. Chia advise. I opt for sylphy bcos cheaper but finally end up with teana(can't resist the package offered). I don't like the sound system. Any1 try other brand?

Bro, which one are you refering to is rubbish? The comments about the sound system or the sound system itself. I believe you are refering to the latter and how much is the additional installation? Thanks.

Bro wc5599, I am not very well verse in sound systems. You mean just installed (addition) the MBQ active sub? No need to remove/replace any of the existing components? And is so, how big is the active sub and where do you install them?

I am getting my Teana this Saturday, so want to ask..for the first 1000 km(before the first service), do limit your speed below 100 kmph... I asked salesman and he said no problem but must always warm up the car...and advice on this?

How does the Teana 2.0L compare with the newly launched Kia Optima 2.0L? Price wise the Teana 2.0L Luxury is priced at RM145K while the Optima is RM143,888. Spec wise the Optima seems far better than the Teana:

1) 156PS & 190Nm torque
2) Has Cornering Brake Control, Traction Control & Hill Assist Control in addition to ABS, EBD & BA
3) 8 way power seat for driver with memory
4) 6 airbags
5) HID Xenon headlights with Auto Leveling & Static Bending Lights
6) MacPherson type suspension with Gas shock absorbers with High Performance Dampers (HPD) with sliding valve

Is there any aspect of the Teana which is better than the Optima besides branding and resale value? Just considering. hmm.gif

Your comparisions are against a Wira. Of course the Teana will be super luxury la. 136PS & 190Nm torque for a 1455kg weight body just seems average.

But how do you calculate fuel consumption above 130kmph? How do you know it consumes alot? What was your readings?

Spec wise, Optima is a clear winner. I would say Teana excel in terms of comfort (subjective) and space. I have yet to test-drive Optima though.

I think you should have a close look at the Optima. Its rear legroom is really good. Better than the Camry. Not sure how it compares with the Teana but this will give you a rough indication:

I am a 6 footer. After sitting in the driver's seat and adjusting it to the most comfortable position, i hopped in the rear seat. The distance from my knee to the front driver's seat was about 12cm at my most comfortable inclination.

Difficult to gauge comfort though since no test drive available for the Optima till April but i think the Teana would ace this aspect.

But i think Teana will start losing some steam with the launch of the Optima with wht it has to offer for a slightly cheaper price. The Camry will still continue to sell due to brand name but the Teana may not have much support. TCM will need to come out with more goodies and promotions once the Optima starts taking to the streets and people start noticing. But Teana will still have its loyal supporters especially among the older ppl who dont prefer the Optima's modern design. But for the general public, except for the Nissan brand & maybe after sales, the Teana has nothing much going for it in relation to the Optima. Specs, interior & exterior design, handling & power all belong to the Kia Optima.

^ Indeed, i really look forward to test drive and peek into the Optima when the test units are made available. I am guessing that Tan Chong will start to offer promotional bodykits to counter this.

IMO the thing teana win over optima is the seat.. teana's seat is still the best from all cars i have tested (aside from lexus IS250) i guess..
optima win over teana in every single aspect.. if optima have 2.5L engine then i suppose it would b better i guess.. 2.0L on tat car feels underpower.. car is too heavy i guess.. and then.... its a kia.. i don fancy korean.. haha..

btw cybermaster.. i test drive the optima ady..

teana cruising at 130kmph constant speed.. 10l/100km +-.. still ok for me..
above 140kmph will consume more than 10l/100km thou..

Is it the latest Kia Optima? You test drive with trade plates or wht?

Yes i expect the acceleration to be a bit sluggish as the car is heavy. Its 0-100kmph is only 10.9 secs which is poor. Im afraid fc will suffer.
