i believe max speed for express bus on highway is not more than 100KM/h.

Try drive besides the express bus and look on your speedometer.. you'll feel goosebumps seeing express bus on that speed rclxub.gif

no, even our expressway's limitation set to 110km/h, its not applicable to heavy / laden vehicles, remember the recent applications?

driver tak semestinya bersalah.. poor maintenance also boleh menyebabkan kemalangan.. sepatutnya tukar part ni tapi mekanik main amik je part lain main tangkap muat pun boleh jadi punca. biase log maintenance pun kena check.. tapi part bawak laju tu tak bley salahkan sesiapa melainkan driver...

I am sure you all have taken express buses before. If you take the daytime one not so bad because they can't speed. The worse is to take the late afternoon - to evening buses because I think they tend to speed around just after dark so that they want to arrive in KL before midnight. I think there is also less speed trap because police would be breaking for dinner time. The other one is the late night buses which goes without saying speed like mad. You can actually feel the bus swaying and I would say it is a gamble to travel on night buses because I am sure they are doing more than 110 as you can see them overtaking cars.

The southern part is bad because traffic is heavy despite 3 lanes and therefore it is not suprising this happened. Imagine a speeding bus would have a lot of momentum. A lot of you may not realise that the current buses are also to blame because buses like scanias are very powerful. They have a lot of safety features also but it won't stop bad driving. I honestly enjoy taking Maraliner and Transnasional because they are using scania or daewoo and they are fast but it is a gamble that I take to arrive faster.

It is nice to blame the bus drivers but really if you talk to them they have to make the trips and sleep in the bus. If I am in their shoes I would be speeding too out of boredom. I blame it on the government as compulsory speed limiters and better pay in the industry would solve the problem.

Just to add, some of the bus drivers I spoke to even boasted that he managed to do 160km on a double decker. Whether that is true or not I won't know but I definitely stop taking double deckers. If you have time speak to them as they are nice people too. Sometimes they talk to you if the bus is empty because I suspect they are tired too.

By the way if you take Maraliners there are seat belts. So I guess you won't look stupid now if you use it as the because danger is the roof top shearing off as I believe this is the weakest point in a bus.
