pc have no problems booting into livecd.
What graphics card you're using? Cause if I'm right, Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Whateverbuntu 9.04 only support ati graphics card from x2200 series onwards. and the catalyst driver they included in 9.04 is 9.4. And the last ati driver that supports the above cards are 9.3
and don't even think of installing catalyst 9.3 with x.org 1.6. They doesn't like one another. Read here.
now i have ditch xubuntu 9.04 and install opengeu 8.10 for my sis comp (she's using radeon 9600)
