pc running on dual boot with XP if anybody's wondering.

pc have no problems booting into livecd.

What graphics card you're using? Cause if I'm right, Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Whateverbuntu 9.04 only support ati graphics card from x2200 series onwards. Any card with x2100 series, x1xxx series, 9xxx series and older with have graphics problem with x.org 1.6

and the catalyst driver they included in 9.04 is 9.4. And the last ati driver that supports the above cards are 9.3 shakehead.gif

and don't even think of installing catalyst 9.3 with x.org 1.6. They doesn't like one another. Read here.

now i have ditch xubuntu 9.04 and install opengeu 8.10 for my sis comp (she's using radeon 9600) shakehead.gif

hey guys, i am new to ubuntu...

i cant even setup static ip on ubuntu for my laptop. Any helps?
I tried using wireless and its working. Really no idea wat happen here. Please advise. Thanks.

hi all sifus..im newbie in linux..just now i've finished intalled ubuntu 9.04 on my pc..dual booting with windows.. problem is, i cant see the boot loader(taktau betul ke tak ni)..i mean, i cant choose ubuntu to start instead of XP..if i turn my pc, it will straight boot to XP.. what to do? is there any mistakes during installation process?

google up reinstalling grub on ubuntu. u need the live cd.

another problem is, its only show my XP and also ubuntu 8.10 kernel sad.gif
i've deleted all the partitions for ubuntu and reinstalled it..still d same..its still show ubuntu 8.10 on d boot loader..
what to do? guide me please... sad.gif

AFAIK you nid to edit the grub menu

correct me if im wrong


btw, i nid to know shud i cheng to 8.10 since 9.04 ati driver dun support my graphic card which is radeon 9600

and see the list of grub

i've installed ubuntu v9.04
and yes, i already installed v8.10 before and never deleted it
just deleted the partition and recreate it back so i think that all the previous files are gone too.

Hey guys, do you know the settings for connecting maxis 3g in ubuntu 9.04? I can connect and then it shows the antenna on the top. But when I open firefox I cannot open web pages. All help will be appreciated.
