QUOTE(LadyVanity @ Nov 7 2010, 02:08 PM) rounding of the lower back. get someone to spot you. never take form for granted doing deadlifts. one tiny error could mean a slipped disc. ive seen and heard it happen so, so many times. yeah, am quite apprehensive when it comes to lifts involving the back. that's something i will look out for. what about 'feel' ? i can feel the strain + tension on the lower back when lifting, that's normal right ? how to know when you've rounded your back/ wrong form , where would the tension be at ? |

QUOTE(YoNgZ @ Nov 7 2010, 05:34 PM) I've started doing deadlifts latetly, pardon my inexperience what's roudning of the lower back? everytime after i do deadlift , the next day my lower pain does not feel pain but instead i feel some sort of aching/soreness. correct me if i am wrong. rounding of the back means your lower back is not in its natural 'S' curve. meaning instead of a inverted 'C' or ), it becomes a 'C' or ( . I am assuming that that you are facing -->. |

The way he phrased it, implied that whey was unnatural. That's how i read it.so debbierowe doesn't take supplements and only eat natural food 2. Think before you type, i've seen plenty of your useless+uninformative+misleading replies in other threads. 3. Stop going crazy over anyone with a 'female' tag, you've never seen any before ? 4. Now, train hard. |

QUOTE(whale1987 @ Dec 8 2010, 02:50 PM) For me to do squats is a bit tricky, i dont have a squat rack so i utilize my benchpress-bench instead. What i do is to stand behind the bench with the barbell and weights already in place, then i squat down to position the barbell onto my shoulders > lift > step back > begin squatting. i am about 70kg same height , squatted 165lbs including the bar last week,deadlift about 140lbs. but i can't bench pass 100lbs Btw how heavy do ppl around my stats squat? Or rather how heavy do you all squat? Just wana use the information as a benchmark to see how i am stacking up.. |

QUOTE(arekey @ Dec 14 2010, 03:02 PM) Gentlemen You can listen to those who probably sit all day in a lab, and the heaviest thing they would ever lift is their fingers, or those people who dedicate their time to lifting and eating.Can I have your taught/experience about this article "Will Eating More Protein Help Your Body Gain Muscle Faster?" http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art...rticlekey=50900 Summary : High protein and low-carb can couse water loss often shows up on the scale as weight loss. But along with losing water, you lose muscle mass and bone calcium. The dehydration also strains your kidneys and puts stress on your heart. 'Adding more protein but not more calories or exercise to your diet won't help you build more muscle mass, but it may put your other bodily systems under stress. Eating more protein and increasing total caloric intake while maintaining the same exercise level will build an equal amount of additional fat and muscle mass, according to a study published in 1992 in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.' That study is 18 years old, i won't put too much weight on that. |

Sorry arekey, i missed out some points.
But then again, people who advocate you taking 1.5g of protein/pound per day are people who work in the labs, for scivation, ON, gaspari,etc . People who directly gain a benefit from you consuming their products. So what do you take from that ? I can say for most of us here, at least for me, who is still very much new to this, won't be able to hit 200g of protein per day. but i do what i can, lift hard, and enjoy the journey. Ultimately, it really boils down to the individual. Everyone is built differently. Bodybuilding is for life, you are the only one who can figure out what works or not. |

one question, what's the point in binge eating ? can an excess of 2000 calories in one day help you build anything ?

@Kasey Brown
So you are saying that 2 persons, who undergo the same training routine, one eating 3000cals worth of milkshakes and another eating 3000worth of protein loaded meals, will be able to gain the same amount of weight ? genetic differences excluded. What about muscle mass ? |
