I've used DHL services a few times to Singapore and Hong Kong and they are pretty good. They will deliver the goods/parcels/mails to you even at night and they are always punctual. They will deliver the goods/parcels/mails to you even at night and they are always punctual. FedEx offers next business day delivery for document and parcels between major cities in Asia via the FedEx International Priority service (if no Customs delay)http://www.fedex.com/my/services/asiaone/overview.html For example, today in KL you send a parcel, tomorrow the receipient in Singapore and Hongkong shall receive it by noon! For not-so-urgent shipments, you can use FedEx International Economy service which is more economical. http://www.fedex.com/my/services/IE/iesvcfeatures.html All these services are backed by FedEx Money Back Guarantee programme. http://www.fedex.com/my/services/termsandc.../guarantee.html |

it depends on the country that you send to. i have account on both DHL and Fedex and been sending more than 40 parcels every month to various country and here's my feedback
DHL - Rate is cheaper compared to FedEx. Transit time is the same. Problem with DHL is they tend to screw up shipments to Asia very often. First case, my shipment to Thailand which takes a day ended up sitting in their warehouse in Thailand for ...................7 DAYS!!! Reason given- cannot find the address. Why didn't call me? they said they called but i didn't pick up FedEx - Rates bit higher but guarantee to deliver your stuff to anywhere in the world safely. Customer service is not so friendly compared to DHL but if you are focusing on just getting the stuff delivered, shouldn't be a problem. Their 25kg box promotion is worth it. Send some stuff to UK using that box and cost me less than RM700 only. So in conclusion, if you are just looking for a one time shipment just use FedEX lah. No need headache. |

I compared between DHL and FedEx on their website, for sending the same stuff to the same destination, FedEx is always cheaper than DHL. But that is using the FedEx economical package lar, which may take longer. But some countries don't have the FedEx Economical option, so in this case, DHL will be cheaper.DHL - Rate is cheaper compared to FedEx. Transit time is the same. try using Dua Hari Lambat in Penang. You will cry.
Item(s) arrived in the morning. But they need your permission to clear. Must fax over the instruction slip. Then later once you asked them to proceed, they claimed customs want to inspect. Even the internal worker ask me for 'coffee' money to expedite and ahem customs. Bear in mind i got regular shipments bi-weekly still need to do the above. Arrival in Penang does not guarantee same day delivery. Even i must go Customs and explain to them the items about, the DHL runner just sit and side with customs and tell me must not cheat Customs..WTF, who is paying you the salary? Also charge you RM20 or something just to pay Customs duty and tax in advance for you. Changed to FedEx 1 year ago. All on time delivery if flight arrived in the morning. No 'coffee' money needed and duty and tax FOC upfront payment. If consider FedEx charge more, then it is worth every penny. Now Dua Hari Lambat kept on sending emails give special rates for shipment, their volume must be pretty bad or most people abandoned them. Also i knew all the Customs and procedures as I am in the same industry as them. No need to BS me. |

My first time experience with UPS was bad. I was waiting at home on the scheduled delivery date the whole day (as shown on their tracking website), expecting to receive the package from Europe, ....waited waited.....then got impatient and called customer service about 3pm asking where the heck is my package? The CS guy told me point blank it was already with the driver even though the tracking website still shows it is at Sepang (KLIA I suppose), so I should be receiving it before 6pm. Waited and waited again till 5.55pm, beh tahan called the CS again...this time another CS guy told me the package still at Customs KLIA. I was like WTF why didn't tell me earlier?. Basically that's the gist of my first experience with UPS. I have received same delivery package from the same sender before using DHL, so will not hesitate to recommend DHL, even though DHL may be more expensive, but at least I think DHL's tracking website is far more up to date.

my experience from Fedex shipping from US, twice also get hold my Malaysian custom taxed.
Year 2010 i bought a HTC car kit cradle from US website about USD70, and they offer Fedex shipping just USD10. when arrived at Malaysia tax imposed but without inform, when i receiving my goods that moment, the dispatcher say my parcel get taxed. and about RM8x, and i refuse to receive the item and called up to fedex to check what the f my item get taxed, then they showing me the statement, the car cradle priced at USD70 x 3.8 = RM266 + Fedex fright charges USD50 (froget the actual) x 3.8 = RM190 + insurance 10% then estimate of insurance bla bla bla, added up total estimation of the product is RM56x then imposed of 20% taxed, due to item over RM500 so it taxed-able. So finally i cancel my purchase, luckily i pay via Paypal, i get full refund. Mar 2015, i bought something from US, amazon, ebay and others website. then i consolidated those item with forwarder company at US (shipito, sofar so good). item i purchase was 2x phone protect case, 1x screen protector, 1x USB magnator charger USB (for sony xperia) and 5x clothes. then i select fedex economy due to more faster some how shipment cost also expensive USD20 compare USPS international. so i select it, that day is Thursday, item delivered on Monday, super fast, but Malaysia tax imposed again. luckily i declare all he item very cheap, about USD3-5 each item, still i need to pay about RM90 for the custom tax. celeka betul... so the recent one i also buy things from ebay, and consolidated into a parcel, this time i only buy clothes about 20pcs, then i declare used clothes, and USD1 for each. using USPS international shipping method, then i following the tracking stage day by day, the lessen i learn is they told if the tracking starting with EM then it will delivery to you rapidly, other than that u slow slow wait la. the delivery took + - 10days (exclude sat & sun) buy arrive without any tax imposed. if you buy something from Japan please use EMS, Friday order, Tuesday or Wednesday received. ichibang services but still send by Poslaju, i got buy toy figure, toy accessories, clothes, from Y3000 ~ Y30000 item, different website, their packaging really the best i ever saw. their postage also quit reasonable, the common shipment i pay for most of the time is Y2500. hopefully this statement can help most of our Malaysian bro/sis who purchase. |

QUOTE(KahHoong @ Nov 23 2015, 07:02 PM) Hi guys, recently will be delivering some parcel weight between 3-7kg's, would like to know which courier service is most reliable and affordable ones (not to choose too cheap, sure not reliable, but not too expensive, costly). Thanks! Fedex doing something funny with inflating the shipping cost. My previous shipment got taxed. Fedex quoted a shipping cost much more than what I paid to seller. I didn't dispute that as the seller informed that they were offering a discounted Fedex shipping cost so I thought maybe Fedex M'sia was quoting the actual shipping value to customs. In total plus shipping the value quoted by Fedex M'sia to custom was around RM900 but what I PAID to seller (inc ship) was less than RM500. From the documents I received, it seems Fedex submit invoice and custom slap a tax so customer deal with Fedex not with customs directly. Now have another Fedex shipment on the way. Shipping cost as paid to seller via ebay paypal was Euro35. I got a message from Fedex saying kena tax lagi. Total purchase price inc ship is less than RM400. I called them back to dispute. Waiting for their custom section staff to call me back. I have all the documents and proof, I'll see how this play out. This time I'll pursue this with custom if need be. Unfortunately cannot find much feedback from people's experience dealing with Fedex M'sia. Got one post the buyer didn't want to pay and send back for refund. But so far haven't seen anyone disputing. |
