all shares are dropping all over the world..... so no surprise kodak also affected.

Yesterday the Dow shot up 270+ points flex.gif . I think Euro markets also up. But Kodak bucks the trend and goes down. Now getting closer to becoming penny stock. shocking.gif Also a 25% movement in ONE day is a lot.

p/s - For those of you who have multiple film cameras or new (ahem) scanner whistling.gif ... sell sell (cheap cheap) ... the end is near. biggrin.gif

Kodak holds too much photographic patents to die off just like that. They would probably be bought by another large coorperation just for the patents they are holding. Besides kodak, there are still other types of films as well, such as Ilford and fuji to name a few. There will still be a niche for film shooters so companies will still make film for them.

If Polaroid can survive bankruptcy, I'm sure Kodak can tongue.gif

Sell film cameras? The time is to buy now before demand gets even higher! tongue.gif

hehe prices going up is inevitable I guess since it depends on silver.

BTW, if anybody is interested in a B&W developing class, I'm having one on the 15th Oct 2011. Only RM 200. Here are the details: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=237...1&type=1&ref=nf

i was digging in some of my dad old stuff and i found a Canon EOS 500n Film SLR.....

Anybody here has any detail of it? I cant find any manual.... and seems like there is some dust in it also ( i see dust in the viewfinder).

Thinking of reviving it.

hey thx.... i was wondering since it is Film system that means it does not have sensor (since the Film is used to record the picture), then they will not have any dust problem on the sensor problem on i right?

Then i can see this tiny bit of dust on the viewfinder, and i notice it is on the viewfinder (the thing above the mirror) so i google around and notice cannot clean it myself (very easily scratch), where do you guys suggest i should send it to for cleaning? Any recommendation.

You're most welcomed!
Erm, if you ask me, I'll just leave it as it is, just try to blow out all the dust from the film compartment using a blower (don't want dust sticking onto your film, do ya?).
Dust in the viewfinder won't affect the experience of using a film camera =) Save up the money for cleaning and use it to buy more films and for film developing.
Try to shoot a few rolls with it, preferably with some cheapo fuji superia film and probably some B&W film such as the ilford HP5. If you feel like you want to use this camera more, then send it for a CLA (cleaned, lubed and adjusted) smile.gif

Enjoy!

What is the type of your battery?
sometimes u need not go to camera shop to find the battery. sometimes they don't have it, sometimes they sell it in very exp price.

go to jusco/department store that sells watches dept, ask for the battery. or, like me, just go to china shops/rm5 shops and look for the battery. not sure bout your camera, but mine just use the battery for metering. it's fully manual camera so no point spending much money on the battery.

And also, don't buy film(or dun shoot with films) just yet.
try and shoot empty shots a few times.
try out all the functions fast shutter, slow shutter, bulb, self timer, metering, aperture priority (if available), shutter priority (if available) etc etc.

old cams sometimes stuck half way u using it since long time never use. then u need to send to shop for service.
sometimes old cams already stuck even before u use it. play around with it, then it might get loose and able to use again. u never know.
that's y, dun put film in it first, play around and make sure it won't fail. else, ur film will possibly be wasted if u shoot half way and it get stuck.

welcome to shoot film biggrin.gif
