I've tried Korg Wavedrum before. Amazing.

Not possible. You're right, definitely not from Malaysia. No place here that deals with Sonor, DW, Pearl, and Sabian under one roof.

How do I put this. Can I say that getting an e-kit as your first kit is detrimental to your development as a drummer?
*
Nicely said. I'm with you in this one.

QUOTE(fifi85 @ Nov 10 2010, 07:26 AM)
Not at all.. Sure there will be difference in play but its minor. When u adjust to an acoustic kit, you dont need to relearn a whole new instrument. The only thing people who play ekit lose out on is how to adjust the acoustic drums, tuning and hardware related stuff.
*
Unfortunately, dynamics is very important. E-kit opens up creativity and variety in term of sounds but fails to replicate the dynamics of acoustic kits. Its best to practice both regularly.

Dynamics can also be played by adjusting the sensitivity. Its now just hit 1 time then 1 volume come out..
*
To me, Korg Wavedrum is by far the closest digital drum that can replicate dynamics of an acoustic drum. Others might be good, but the difference is to far. Unless you have a full Korg Wavedrum drumkit (bass drum and cymbals aside), digital drums is still lacking dynamic wise.

QUOTE(Party2DMax @ Nov 10 2010, 06:48 PM)
When I was touting the awesomeness of e-kits (TD-20 or similar) even when getting flamed here, I'd assumed a player would already have the chops.
That vid made me realise that I shouldn't be so gung-ho about e-kits. I could've been offering a stupid recommendation to newbies sad.gif
But still... personally, for myself, e-kit has the edge biggrin.gif
*
What vid?

On another topic, anyone here records and listen back to their practice session?

@treflip: Mind giving out details on the recording equipment used and a sample of the recordings?

@Party2DMax: QRD? The sound room is still in progress? I've read the thread you posted in Jamtank before, excellent job! Hopefully I'll have my own space like that in the future to work with.

On mic drums, I think it depends on the intention of the recordings, for practicing and listening back, live audio or recording. That lumix maybe only good for listening back to a practice only. Zoom recorders is good for ideas, maybe not so for a demo or album since editing can only be done to the whole recording of the whole drums. Spent some time reading before purchasing any because mics are expensive.

On another note, look what I just received;

And, anyone seen this?

AhBoy, if I'm not mistaken, that ride pop out after the previous Yamaha sale. We've previously discussed fake cymbals and most of us here is yet to see one.

Anyone interested of buying a black mixed 7 piece entry level kit? Might open up a sales thread soon, just letting you guys know in case anyone here is interested.

Namqul, are you selling your kit? Got a replacement in mind?
*
Bought it already. Will update with a picture but have to set it up first, and man that's a lot of work.

QUOTE(sarvinG @ Dec 7 2010, 09:26 PM)
I might be, more info would help perhaps.
*
QUOTE(russellhere @ Dec 8 2010, 03:43 PM)
how much you selling for dude?
and is it with cymbals?
*
Basically, its a pdp EZ series (fusion), with an 8' Pearl Export tom and an unidentified 16' floor tom. Heads are Evans G1 for all toms top and bottom. Snare batter head is Genera dry, G1 for resonant. Bass drum heads are EMADs. Hardwares and cymbals can be adjust accordingly with any budget. Stock stool is for free. No urgency of selling it. If I couldn't find a buyer, might gave to a friend. Hopefully I can find time this weekend to shoot some pictures for current setup update and a sales thread.

Great! Not a single regret of purchasing it.

Anyway, I've created a sale thread on drum related things that I no longer use. Do tell if me the pricing is ridiculous. Thanks!

Can I have those PDPs as spares? biggrin.gif THANKS! xD And How much was the Inked for Evans? New is about RM210 only right?
*
I do have the stock PDP x7 snare with die cast hoops and discontinued Puresound Metrix snare wires if you want to use it for the recording thing. The catch is, I want new heads on it upon returning, Evans Genera Dry on top and Hazy 300 on bottom, deal? Haha. New Inked is RM250 before any discount, RM150 for a new isn't bad right?

Party2DMax : Okey, I'll take the offer. Don't worry, I have many not so good DVD I think, and The Evolution of Tony Royster Jr. is one of it. But there's always new things to learn right? Plus, Tears of Joy is a killer song. How do you suggest we deal?

isaacmiranda7 : By any chance you take stock from JS? Not to disturb your sales, but if there's buyer for 22" Camo Inked, just take mine for a higher margin. Got mine for free, hence price is very low.

What kind of hardware and the problem? I've few experiences. I've built and cut my own hihat rod and fixed a broken boom stand.

E-drums Vs Acoustic again? Can we at least settle with hybrid being cool?

If you haven't, check this out. If you don't like it, maybe the chick can at least cheer you up.

Was about to reply the same thing. I thought usually people choose acrylics for the looks no?
