I don't know the details. Not sure until stock is cleared / ends in a few days. But some cymbals, bass pedal, snares are on sale now.

Yes, Yamaha sales at Beatspot outlets & HQ. I think they are clearing out the current stock. Not that sure if the sale is still going on or over. Cymbals mostly at 70%, hardwares at 30%. Not much item left tho. Call each outlet for more info. I went to Midvalley and HQ. Lots of Manhattan Jazz. 2 rides in Midvalley and 1 hihat at HQ. I grabbed the last pair of HHX Stage hats at HQ, still a pair of HHX Manhattan Jazz hats when I left. Someone managed to arrive faster than me and bought a Jojo Mayer ride, a 20 inch Artisan, another cymbal, and the most amazing buy for Steve Gadd snare. Should have been there sooner, dang!

isaacmiranda7 : Location? Looks interesting.

Secret Choong : Where did you buy the omnis?

treflip, that DW snare of yours arrived already? How are you planning on getting the kit? Personally, I would just go for the Performance shell pack. Unless you have a lot to spend, by all means, go for something better.

Anyone here uses any remote hi hat?

Snare meetup? Unfortunately I'm only available May onwards. I have a pair of 57s, a 58, a pair of overheads, and a set of cheap drum mics and stands. Its all underutilized, so this might be a good place to finally make good use of it. It would be more interesting if someone can bring few types of hoops too.

For me it'll me a Brady ply kit and block snare (for wood).
Tempus carbon fibre kit and Dunnett titanium snare (for non-wood; save trees!).

So Namqul... when are ya free for fooling around with other ppl's jewels tongue.gif
And who else is interested to join in a snare shoot out?
*
Unfortunately, its still May onwards. I'm tied down for a huge submission by the end of April. If you guys can wait, I don't mind bringing any of my stuff. I've also bought a Zoom Q3HD for a quick recording that might be useful.

If I'm not mistaken, its Danny Carry signature snare. MIG Sonors are expensive stuff.

Let say, 8th or 9th of May, is that okay with you guys?

My bad, looking at the price, maybe you're right. Plus, that Danny Carry's is bronze.

Anyway, we can always refer here for price reference : http://www.ultimatemusic.com.my/list.asp?catid=42

Check out that 13x5 Beech 28 plys Snare, what a beauty.

treflip : I might be interested but still need to have a look and test it out first. Is it an urgent sale?

So May 8th is the finalized date? Count me in. Maybe I'll bring along few snares too.

And, I just finished watching Gavin Harrison's interview (almost 50 mins for both part) here : http://www.drumdepartment.de/content/publi..._video.php?id=9
He mentioned somewhere in the interview that he compared many things (heads, snare wires, beaters, mics, hoops) side to side. After that, I looked up his gears and it seems that he uses stuff ranging from few companies (Pearl, Tama, DW, Sonor to name a few) and it got me thinking, since we don't have the luxury of comparing those things side by side, plus his setup sounds amazing, maybe its safe to buy those things since he has done all the comparing?

Mapex V-series 12x5.5

I also have Puresound custom pro brass and Metrix snare wires to test out.

Anyone went or participate the V-drum contest last weekend?

Rayne1989 : JS Music no longer carries Stagg. Ultimate Music is the dealer now.

Party2DMax : Did you try out any of the snares?

WintersuN : Its never a compulsory to buy after testing. Just be sure to know what you want and your budget instead of trying everything in the shop. Some shops do allow to try with sticks, others only let you tap it with your fingers. Just bring along some familiar face customer and it'll be easier.

Speaking of hoops, I bought this but it won't work with S-hoop.

And, I'm also looking for this went to few shops but couldn't find any. Anyone seen it before here? Clip below is an example.

Namqul, where'd you get the S-Hoop? Drum Resources?
*
Yup. Bought it the last time I went there around September 2010. A bit of advice before buying anything bigger than 14 inch diameter when flying, check if the item fit in your bag or at least plan on how to bring it back home. I was a bit lucky the hoops didn't bend since it almost couldn't fit into my luggage. Had to leave the boxes behind though.

How much was it? I think I'll drop by one of these days.

If I'm not mistaken, its SGD55 a piece. Other than Drum Resource, Yamaha, Swee Lee, and Raking, where else do you usually go for drum stuff in Singapore?

As for check in, I have no experience with cymbals. I always hand carry them. Its even possible with 22inch. Just let them know before boarding.

What kind of customizing are you interested in? Custom length, diameter, tip, taper and stuff, or custom in design?

I'm still okay for now. 80-20. If attendance is low, maybe we can fix another date? More people will make discussions more interesting I think.

Guys, I've recently bought myself a Pearl floor tom conversion kit and an ISS mount. I've read in few places that the ISS can bend the rim of the tom. Anyone have any experience with this? Should I go for Optimount to be on a safe side?
