My wife wants my Tamron 17-50mm to be paired with her 400D which i gave it to her. A good reason for me to buy 17-40mm f/4L.

QUOTE(Vincent Pang @ Oct 20 2010, 01:51 AM) LOL, I did not cover it because I see the higher megapixel to be more advantage than disadvantage. Why i need to worry about microshake when I have to blur my image sorry to barge in the debates on the high megapixel vs sharp images vs shutter speed thingy. sounds quite lame to me. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « he can continue to laugh, while i will focus on how to take better images at lower shutter speed. p/s: I actually spend 30 mins writting the explanation, but decided not to post it. Just that i stand by my words, I don't think it's a problem. You can worry all your life struggling to get more shutter speed. anyway, this pic took using UWA or fish eye a? nice distortion there. |

Bokeh at f4 oredi can pengsan, speed can bump iso like hell. No uncle ian, still using 550D. Needs your expert advice. Do you think the 17-40mm f/4L can be paired with mine? This post has been edited by fentanyl: Oct 20 2010, 10:39 AM |

QUOTE(fentanyl @ Oct 20 2010, 10:38 AM) Err just want to have my first L lens. The IQ is much better right? hmm. IQ much better? certainly much better than the tamron. but by how much?it is justifiable? Added on October 20, 2010, 10:39 am Mine is non VC. No focusing issue at all. Just want to give my wife. Added on October 20, 2010, 10:39 am In terms of IQ and contrast, it is better right? Need advice... Added on October 20, 2010, 10:39 am No uncle ian, still using 550D. Needs your expert advice. Do you think the 17-40mm f/4L can be paired with mine? then again, if you always shoot f4 and above, then its worth considering la. like what sniper said, you will be losing 1 stop of light leh, and with 550D, your bokeh might not be as nice if you had a f2.8 lens. having said that, if you are not a bokeh freak, then f4 can pretty much do the job too. anyway...its your money the end of the day.
