somemore it really depends on the financial situation... even though u knew long run will save you alot more, but now u need dslr so badly, so badly poisoned, but only enuf money to get 60D, instead of 7D or 1d mkIV, then just go for 60D lo.. im sure u will not really regret after getting 60D. its a good camera. i get 500D but not 550D cuz i got really really limited budget that time. and i know i will be upgrading again in the future.. so, its ok lo just learn from 500D since that time i only ahve that amount of money to allow me to buy that model..

guys, don't spam.

most people couldn't even use 500D properly to begin with.

i'd rather they spend $$$ attending workshop / classes to improve rather than spending more on body and feel good but photos look the same.

is it better to get a wide angle lens(10-22) or is it better to get a wide angle tele lens(15-85)

is that what u mean? it depends on your preference la.

if it was me, i'll get 1 lens for normal outing(17-50), 1 for tele photo(55-250), 1 UWA(10-22), 1 fast aperture prime(30 f/1.4), and a flash of course

that is the set up which i prefer.

U fellas talking bout 24-70L. Very cheap only la now. There's a guy called shadow-dweller or sumthing selling it for only rm4700 IIRC. Who cares whether 24-70L IS comes out or whatever since it's so cheap now.

agree wit goldfries, attending workshop really hlp a lot n nt only tht~ u can still meet wit other ppl n get 2 know them n learn from them~
lately wedding season no workshop to attend at all~
o ya~ nt only workshop hlp improve ur photography skill~ attending model photoshoot n other photoshoot can also hlp a lot~

+1 DSLR is not a cheap investment and we all know we cant chase up to technology everyday there will be something better out there.

no need so rush wan get the best of the best one go. most of the people only get their pro level bodies after years of experience with lower body. like goldfries himself, he use 500d 550d also wat. now baru upgrade to 60D cuz the features this body offers appeal to his needs.
as for me, i have been reading for months and i began with pns camera before i venture into dslr.. so once i got my first dslr, it doesnt seem new or alien to me anymore.. instead i can enjoy the photography itself, while learning new skills..

4.7k cheap haha can i ask for a loan lol. 1 lens 4.7K if 3 lens can reach up to 10k all the best lenses

erm...my meaning is lik...isit better to get wide angle lens for wide angle purpose n tele lens for tele purpose or to get 2 in 1~

me too, that is why i get 450D, btw, money i spent so far on the lens upgrade can bring me a newer body(xxD model most probably), but i realize that, buying a better body can't upgrade my shooting quality. and i need a faster lens, that is why, lens is 1st priority.

This is why I bought a Sony Alpha 1st. So that I can abuse the free workshops n free photography trips to the Zoo, Melaka, etc etc. Those workshops sure help a lot n get right down to the basics that so many fellas here dont even have any idea about. FOV, Compression, barrel distortion, pincushion distortion n all oso talak tau.

You all lucky can go workshop... I TFK also no time ar... only got ~30-40mins everynight after put baby to sleep go jalan jalan snipe mei mei.

its like that when they are few months old. When the baby is about 1 year 1/2 should have more time already. We got so many sifu sifu here can ask them set up a workshop for us.

rm10k u wanna buy 3 of the best lenses already? U better go sleep early tonight n have sweet dreams. Even 1 nice 28-300L is rm10k oredi.

If talking bout 3 lenses then take The Holy Trinity as an example-
16-35L- rm6k
24-70L- rm5k
70-200 f2.8L IS- rm9k.

Those 3 BEST lenses for all round usage is already rm20k.

i don't have catch fish, i don't have that much fish to sell to earn so much money

it is just like getting a gaming computer for gaming and getting a HTPC for watching TV. yeap, both works the same(it is computer right) but both is not the same profession, one is more to gaming and another one is more to watching movie.

so, do you think a fusion between tele and wide angle is better or a UWA for UWA and a tele for tele is better?

unless u can find a lens that is range 10-300
