Those Canadian can get it at $79.99 at Best Buy Canada in store only. Why US don't have? cry.gif

Just curious about this:

QUOTE
Transmitting audio in PCM format was more susceptible to audio jitter issues than transmitting in either Dolby or DTS bitstream formats. Audio compression codecs (whether lossy or lossless) packetize the data and require clocking mechanisms in the receiver that should minimize or eliminate jitter.
Or

QUOTE
Bitstream transmission is more susceptible to audio jitter.  - According to this paper.

I'm in budget mode now. Have all the titles I want and won't be spending like a mad man for new titles.

Perhaps a few more till the end of the year, and that's it.

Aliens Anthology for $80+, no way in hell.

in my experience, this whole jitter issue have been discussed since the dawn of digital audio (and digital trasmission age). jitter this, jitter that, less jitter is good, more jitter no good, pcm more jitter, bitstream more jitter and all that crap are just marketing bull.

sure jitter have some effect on the digital trasmission, but both receiver and trasmitter have some form of jitter correction mechanism. meaning they will work with some transmission error.
and rather than giving too much concern over such trivial (i classify them as trivial) matter, and waste money to reduce/eliminate such jitter in transmission, you're better off wasting money on upgrading something else. like speakers. or amp. or if you like, cables.

there's gonna be even more loss of resolution futher down the lane at the DAC and analog stage.
