QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Oct 13 2010, 12:46 PM) Buddy, how do we find out that an app is doing what you reported above? Kinda concerned as I use drocap2. You download "batteryhistory". Open and select sensor at the top drop menu. Then you can see. I find that drocap2 sensor bug isn't draining battery as much like PapagoX5 bug but the drocap2 bug is still there as recorded to be running all the time no matter how. Added on October 13, 2010, 12:05 pmQUOTE(gajahwhite @ Oct 13 2010, 12:40 PM) I'm usually kill all apps after using em all It won't kill the sensor bug. I have already tried that. QUOTE(Harddisk @ Oct 13 2010, 02:51 PM) Theoretically yes. But Samsung never did say that S/AMOLED consumes less power than LCD. They just said it's more power efficient or something. But if they did claimed that the AMOLED uses less power, then they are lying. Unless you are comparing full black screen on both displays. I think there are still years to come for an AMOLED which will consumes less power than LCD of the same size on full white. I remember that I read somewhere a few days ago that Samsung did a test on battery consumption between a Super AMOLED screen vs Super LCD (Iphone4). At full brightness, Super AMOLED consume 30% less power than Super LCD.

QUOTE(Jason @ Oct 13 2010, 03:56 PM) agreed. pros and cons to everything..its what compromises you wish to make.. a more detailed comparison and explanation backed by NUMBERS and not opinions. http://www.displaymate.com/Smartphone_ShootOut_1.htmit seems that Super AMOLED loses out in brightness and pixel density.. but i feel its plenty bright already, even if it can go brighter no difference to me cause i don't need it that bright. pixel density..i guess depends on the distance you view the screen.. at arm's length i can't see the pixels on the SGS or iPhone 4. if you watch a lot of videos/medias.. Super AMOLED will definitely make sense with its better contrast ratio and the true blacks. Good comparison article.. It clears all doubts..

QUOTE(quackpack @ Oct 13 2010, 11:41 PM) Alrite finally got everything in order. I know there is a guide at first page but some people would wan prove of how should be done. My phone was on JG4,voodoo lagfix v3 and rooted. I removed voodoo lagfix before proceeding. Flashing failed when directly flash with JPM with repartition and PIT 803. Flashing success with JM8+PIT512 with repartition then only JP6 without repartition. Thanks to samfirmware.com How is the performance of SGS with Froyo on board?

I will wait for the official froyo, since knowing that froyo is not going to bring any significant changes. My primary complain in lagginess and now Voodoo has lubricate it for me, that is not my concern anymore at the moment. Now my primary concern is not able to install some froyo apps from the market.. hmmm.. But i still got some 200 apps installed to keep me busy till the official froyo updates, I hope....

Just for sharing, there is a new app called Android Manager WIFI which can help you connect wirelessly to your PC and sync. Can sync with Outlook as well (Good for Kies hater ~ no offence, I don't like kies too). Can saves all your sms, and you can even send sms from your PC too. Can manage all your apps, files, musics, videos, etc.. But it is in BETA. I have tested it and everything works. So far so good.. You can find it in AppBrain.. Here is the link though: http://global.mobileaction.com/product/product_AM.jsp

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Oct 15 2010, 01:40 AM) Voodoo for Froyo will be out tomorrow Great news...Now I might want to flash to unofficial froyo.. hehehe Added on October 15, 2010, 9:06 amQUOTE(mengsuan @ Oct 15 2010, 01:45 AM) Do you guys feel the phone lags a little after installing the push Social Hub? The battery consumption is somewhat higher by 10% a day compared to conventional email app. I don't experience lag or any difference in smoothness before and after. Battery consumption is normal. Depends on how many emails I receive a day also. If no emails, battery consumption is just like before I install the push social hub. So I don't experience battery drain by letting the push social hub on all the time. Added on October 15, 2010, 9:16 amI do experience around 8% battery consumption in about 8 hours after I installed "tweetdeck". I set "tweetdeck" to sync at every 3 minutes to both twitter and facebook. I have to comment tweetdeck is a fabulous apps though.. hehe This post has been edited by lch78: Oct 15 2010, 09:16 AM

QUOTE(pcboy @ Oct 16 2010, 07:55 AM) Has anyone tried this ROM? I just flashed just now... Now restoring my apps and contacts.. Gonna try how fast this Rom can perform after few pages of apps.. but the way the Chef warns sounds really scary especially when he says 'Moving near a melted nuclear reactor is safer than this.' Can give the link?
