thanks benny888 for the linkk..now i can complete my guide for those who want to root/mod their phone using update.zip..i post back my guide below..

for those on eclair 2.1..i got alternativemethod of restarting your phone in recovery method instead of using 3-button combo....

1) search for one click root and download it ( also in xda..i forgot the link..hehe)
2) extract the zip file and put it on you computer ( e.g desktop)
3) in the folder delete the root.zip file
4) set your SGS on to usb debugging mode
5) connect the micro-usb to your pc and mount your SGS to it (just drag the notification bar and select copy file to/from
6) copy the update.zip to your phone e.g /sdcard
7) run the one click root software and select one click root 2.1
8) wait for the cmd windows to pop-up and then you can see you SGS will restart in recovery mode
9) use volume up/down on your SGS navigate to apply sdcard update.zip and press home button
10) wallllaaaa..

mine will take a day journey to reach SC...fyi i'm in kapit,sarawak...in middle of nowhere..LOL

haha..mine is m'sian set but the journey seriously took about 1 day journey cruising the rajang river to reach sibu where can found samsung centre.....

haha..i'm teaching in remote area..no cell network whatsoever...now using viasat internet..huhuhu..so all day round using flight mode and just consumed 5% of battery...hahaha

long time not logging and 638 posts to be read..duhhss....btw froyo not yet OTA right?..nvm stick with eclair first..hehehe...

guys what the latest FW on leaked froyo right now..is it still JPM?...
