wow... good price there...

I got my NEX-5D at Sony Centre, Batu Pahat Mall at RM3099. got free 2x8GB MS Pro HG Duo HX, tripod, Sony bag, UV filter and screen protector.

why some dealer in forum, the price is very2 cheap?
*
because those are called street prices...

the ones in Sony Centre are called retail prices... Rm3099 is RRP... In shops other than Sony, you can get around 2.6-2.7k...

Somehow during holiday season all the shipments to UK from China/HK
takes forever...
The 3rd party battery I bought from digital-rev finally arrived after more than 3 weeks.. It came with slightly above half the capacity... However the percentage is not really fully accurate based on my in-room testing... I drained to around 95 percent... Then after a while I turned on the camera it became 97 again.. Weird... Will do more testing when I have time to go out shoot...

if you do a lot of continuous shooting, a good / fast mem card is a must. This is even more evident when shooting raw and raw+jpeg.

If you haven't before, try using the speed priority drive @ 7fps and hold down the shutter. You will get slowdown very quickly if your mem card is slow to write.

As I posted earlier before, my 10Mb/s write 16GB SDHC is significantly slower than a Sony 8GB HG HX.
*
is ur 16gb from Transcend?

From my experiences, Transcend are really cheap but their Class 10 is only as good as Class 4 of certain brands...

Sony one of course fast lar... Their speed is as fast as Class 10..

The camera slows down when it runs out of buffer. Not because card is slow.

Added on December 9, 2010, 4:20 am
U want 20+ mb/s card for what when the camera doesn't even write at that speed? U put in 60mb/s card oso not gonna make any difference.
*
So how does a fast memory card affects photo taking? I have been wondering that for a long time...

What you stated is probably true but who in the world takes 150 pictures in a row.. That's quite a rare case... after 150 pictures, NEX's battery at least would have lost 1/3....

I going to UK too soon , maybe a recyclable moisture device will do the work ? I saw a dry box for RM99 today ~.~ . Btw new alpha shop will be open soon .. giving out 50% for first 10 customer zzz and rm700 rebate as well = =
*
but in UK, the weather is really dry and less likely a dry box would be needed, just put ur camera in a normal box would be fine i guess...

Agreed with u, there is AutoISO but cannot select

..so, in 'manual mode' still important to set ISO for best exposure? i tot by setting the 'aperture' n 'shutter speed' is already enough..
*
Well, if you're using manual mode, you change ISO, shutter speed, aperture.. Shutter speed and aperture comes first, if you still can't get enough exposure, then only increase your ISO...

I'm using a black NEX-3. Something went wrong with my shutter on the third day of owning my baby and its in the sony centre now. T-T

oh ya, i cant seem to take good macro shots with the 16mm wide angle lens. sad.gif why ah? (am a newbie)
*
Already stated it's a wide angle lens ma, not a macro lens lol... U need macro lens to take macro shots...

If you wana take close up photos, 18-55mm would be a better choice also..
