just bought G5 on 10th November, proud to be in the list here

i think G5 should be sub-threaded to MMS, GPS, Games and Accesories as i found it soooooo hard to find the right solution in this 93 pages-thread..hehe

Added on November 17, 2010, 9:15 ami tried using mms, enabled the always-on button, and tried to send mms to myself, but seems i cannot receive it after 5 minutes, and my credit balance kena deducted a lot (using prepaid). now i don't dare to enable the always-on button. anybody facing this situation? how long u usually got the mms?

Hi guys, I've had Handcent for a couple of days now, but still I can't get rid off the stock app (Messaging) notification, even I disabled it. Every time I receive an SMS, I've got 2 notifications. How to REALLY disable it guys???

I've tried Menu->Messaging->Settings->Untick notifications, but still I receive 2 notifications!

Please help!

ya, if u din subscribe to data plan, it is recommended u do not turn on the mobile connection no matter prepaid or postpaid.
g5 is a smart phone, it tends to always sync many thing silently from ur phone to internet depends on wat purpose.
for instance, gmail, facebook, android market.
so beware, if u turn it on, especially if u r in 3g area, ur credit can be charged very very fast.
i tried once when i havent subscribed data plan yet, within 3 minutes charged abt rm40 ady.

drop to 0 i never try b4, but drop very fast i tried b4, din reali use it, drop from 80+ to 30+ within an hour.
i found out tat sometimes it is due to some apps running in background silently.
even if u din turn on ur phone, it is still running in background and consuming battery.
tat is y task manager is reali a useful tool for u to manage the running apps in background.

if yes, mayb u have to try tick and receive message once, then go back untick then try again.

remember to deactivate background data sync before switch on the data connection................for mms i cant help a lot since i dont use mms

can galaxy 5 upgrade to android version 2.2???

all g5 user here mind to share with me d internal memory is enought.?170mb 2 install app...d app can install in memory card o not?anyone upgrade to froyo....sorry coz i noob for android here ... planing to get this baby soon if can

Internal memory (ROM) whether enough or not is depend on the user themselves, for me is enough...............
Froyo(android 2.2) not only allow to apps2SD, it support RAM swapping as well............using memory card as RAM, we will get faster speed as long as your memory card is fast enough (the common fastest SD card is class10)

Only froyo can support apps2SD (install into memory card), current G5 version is Android 2.1, so not support now

G5 can upgrade to froyo is unknown, rumor said on next month, cant guarantee is real

I'm currently using only 120MB, 170 MB is sufficient unless you're a hardcore mobile gamer.

You cant possibly play that much games without recharging your G5, I can play 3-4 hours before I need to charge

Games are usually 10MB, other normal apps like music player or eBuddy is around 5MB or less.

i just bought it and it's very nice...
but i hvn try out my GPS...
i think only not enuf for heavy gamer...

When I bought this phone from an authorized Samsung dealer, he told me the Froyo update is coming soon.
Not sure whether he is trying to con me anot

You can root the phone to froyo 2.2.
Don't know how long need to wait for the official update.

According to Samsung froyo's Develope team at Europe, they said yes...............will be release on December
(Dont ask the Samsung Malaysia, they know nothing, the Samsung's froyo is develope by Europe team)

Since it has no official announcement, i wont say it confirm.................so the status is "unknown"

december is getting near. hope froyo is a reality in g5.
actually when is it release i dun really mind, as long as it will be in this coming few months.
wat i care abt is the advantages of having froyo.
