I'm interested in this phone. I'm planning to buy at Fantastic Communications in Kepong (behind Jusco Kepong) for RM630. Is it a trusted shop?

Any experience buying from that shop? Any one?

Hi guys, I need help. Just purchased my Galaxy 5.

I think there's something wrong with my clock. When I set my clock (go to setting -> Date & Time -> Set time), It doesn't show the real time on my idle screen, if I Select my time zone correctly GMT +8:00 Malaya Time).

For example, if I select my time zone as GMT +8:00 Malaya Time and set the clock correctly (let's say 8.00 am), the real clock (on idle screen) will delay by 7 hours. (in this case 1.00 am).

So if I want the Android to display the real time, I need to select the time zone as GMT +0:00 Azores Summer Time.

This is the reason why I was late for work because the alarm didn't sound!

Someone, please help me!

That's actually the problem. If I do it like that, my clock would be delayed by hours.

Please help!!!!!!!!

If u have time,go to thier store? Cant u put the time ur self?

C'mon dude don't insult my intelligence. Before going to the store which may take more than an hour from home, it's better to ask around first. That's life, boy. I've traveled far enough to see different times. It's just that it is painfully frustrating not able to do things that you can do without knowing how to do so, like setting time on a damn phone!!!!

hey, chill dude... not sure if this would help you, but try to do this. Still set your time zone back to +8.00, but after that check the first option, which is Automatic. See if this would solve your problem.

1. Untick "Automatic - Use network provided value"
2.set your time zone to +8.00
3.Set your actual time
4.restart phone
Thanks for r3ivax and StupidGuyPlayComp for solving my problem. It doesn't work for the first time, but after a few times of restarts, it worked. I think I have to go to the Samsung service center.

By the way folks, I'm looking for a case (hard case or silicon case or leather bag) for the phone, but have a hard time finding it. Ebay has only white silicone case, which is not that attractive. Anyone has succeeded in finding one? Where????

Now I've got another problem. My clock is OK, but all my phone logs and message history are not synched with the clock, even the calls and messgaes after I set my clock correctly. The call I received just now at 1.15pm (real clock) showed 7.15pm in my phone log.

Man, real headache or is it just me? I really miss my Motorola Razr v3xx. Guys, please help!!!!!!!!!!

smile.gif Hey bro, dont say sorry..............i just to hope solve your problem
here for your reference, might can help

Do remember, G5's GPS unable lock satellite in indoor, pls test it outdoor

1.Go to "Setting" - Location & Security - Use Wireless Networks(always keep tick)
2.Go to "Setting" - Location & Security - Use GPS Satellite (always keep tick)
3.Go to Android market download and install the apps "GPS Booster"
4.Restart phone
5.Go to outdoor (without tall building surrounding within 100m)
6.Open Papago

1st 1-3 times might need longer locking time, later will get better and better

Optional : You can download "GPS Test" at Android market to view the satellite connection status

Hey dude, finally I got my GPS worked!

It couldn't still lock the satellite when I went outside of my terrace house, where tall buildings are even not around.
But this morning when I went to the driving range, while swinging I left my phone on the floor, then after a few minutes the satellite was detected! Then I took the opportunity to go back home using the GPS, and to my surprise, Papago is that quite accurate.

Thanks man for the guide.

Thanks for sharing that app. It's nice indeed.

But for some reason, or maybe I'm ignorant enough, I can't make the clock big enough just like in your attachment. All clock skins I choose only occupies about 1/8 of my screen.

Is there any way to adjust the size of the clock? Thanks man.

The most frustrating experience I have since I bought this phone is no matter what I do or no matter how many times I try to disable the "notifications" of the stock app messaging, I still receive 2 notifications (Handcent + stock app messaging) whenever I receive an SMS.

Or did I miss a part other than disabling the notifications of the stock app? Damn!
