anyway to make the screen lights up when receiving sms/notifications.
i always miss my sms when on my headphones.

Use Handcent SMS, it contain a option to light up the screen after receive the sms. but i not activate this function

You can set a sound notification of unread sms, after a period of time(maybe few minute) for unread sms, it will sound out

this is a good apps, but once msg received its will automatically appears in your home screen and there is once i accidently touch the sreen (when the phone in ur pocket) and send crapy msg reply to my GF...LOL

This winmail.dat problem affects all non-microsoft platforms, even iPhone, Linux, etc. The solution seems to tbe to tell whoever sent you the file to re-send using plain-text e-mail format rather than HTML/Rich Text. See this for details:

PS: Maybe an Android app developer looking for a project can write a decoder for this winmail.dat

And I tried send out email with attachments with plain text format and it works, I can fetch the attachments. Walaowei what if other people send e-mails to me with HTML/Rich text (which is very very common) habis la me. Damn.. Android still not mature yet.

Yupe i'm a proud owner of G5. After much reading with the help of Mr Google, i think i solved the problem. It is well known problem with old gmail account. When i setup new gmail account it work flawlessly!

So anybody who cannot download anything from marketplace (the download failed to initiate) please check your gmail account, like my account which are as old as the gmail itself. Try create a new gmail account and used that acount for your G5.
