I for now not expecting goal galore after seeing how Liverpool perform. I do, however hope we can win the game since we're on away this weekend. Away game are not as easy as we think, especially not in Anfield. Just see how the fans react after they score againt Bolton yesterday, you can roughly imagine how scary is it in liverpool's turf. Hopefully Lampard get to play in CL fixture so that he can ready up before BPL fixture. Play against big club after coming back from injury, worry he might struggle fitness.

Oh yea nod.gif Dirk Kuyt will be back,so they may be tough.but hopefully Chelsea can get 3 points,1-0 would be good enough

hmmm, i dont think there would be any problems for lamps. he is known for his consistency and i dont think i would worry about his fitness. it has never been a problem. we'll see what he can do against spartak at home. i wonder if any of the young guns will get a start smile.gif

If I am not mistaken, Lampard isnt going to take any part againsts Spartak. Well, lets keep him for Liverpool game.

Indeed. I know he is good enough to face the reds but it would be better if he have a game to warm up before facing them. Bosingwa should get starting vs Spartak and sub in Ferreira during second half. We could use the midweek fixture to warm up our player, get a clearer picture who should start during weekend. But for Liverpool game I'd start Ivanovic first, then put Bosingwa after half time. By then Konchesky definitely can't cope with his speed and pace. laugh.gif

One big question. Should Malouda start against Liverpool this weekend since Lampsy is coming back? Zhirkov on wing?

Yea,after someone is out for a long time, they may get rusty, just like how if you haven't done any exercises for quite some time, you may take time to get used to it back

Cech - Blues showed character
Shot-stopper says Rovers display was 'positive'

QUOTE
"It's important when you don't play well that you pick up points," said Cech in the Daily Express.

"That makes the difference. It was a positive performance in terms of showing the character and determination to win.

"Everything didn't go well but we still won, and this was a massive three points. Manchester City lost, the gap is still five points which is good and we have put pressure on the other teams."

He added: "The other advantage is we play everyone around us - the top four and those trying to get there - at a time of no Champions League.

"Last season the key was we won all those head-to-head games against the top four."

wow..its been so long since iva scored! its only fitting that he gets the winning goal. been hitting the post and bar a fair number of times too.
split decision between cech and yuri for the man of the match award. two players who severely need to buck up are essien and malouda. the latter has been suffering a loss of form for a good number of games now. he's been involved with the goals, but u get the feeling he may just be suffering from a bout of tiredness. essien's touch deserted him for the full 90 mins, and once again mikel was the better player. besides that, alex looked like he was never away flex.gif

studge came on and did well, looked really sharp. yes i'm one of those who thought that scorcher of a shot went in. biggrin.gif

lamps for a short 15 minute cameo vs spartak IF he's available. yuri has earned a place in the next game and i wouldn't mind him starting vs pool. bring on lamps in the 2nd half if its stuck at 0-0 or if we're down. that last gasp win vs bolton will fuel them with confidence and torres has begun to step it up. beware the spaniard who rarely has a poor game against us. i'd go for a scrappy win but will be more than happy to settle for a point. this is anfield we're talking. can hardly wait to see the boss and kalouuuuu take part in the next two games!

Frank Lampard set to return for Chelsea against Liverpool

QUOTE
Frank Lampard is expected to make his return from injury against Liverpool on Sunday.

The Chelsea midifielder has been out since having hernia surgery at the end of August but manager Carlo Ancelotti is confident Lampard will return at Anfield after starting training last week.

‘Lampard started training with the team this week,’ said Ancelotti.

I don’t think he will be ready for tomorrow (against Spartak Moscow) but for the next game in the Premier League against Liverpool.

Actually there's a mix feelings regarding Lamps recent comeback..It super boost for the team and the fans, but i think Zhirkov will be drop for Lamps place..it's quite disappointing for the lad whom did very well in our last 2-3 matches..it will be a fair decision if he take Malouda spot while the Frenchmen regain his full form..
