Haha!

They haven't decide on the pricing yet as far as i'm concerned. US$499 is the opening price i think. I'll update the pricelist soon.

The feature you're talking about is called BB Bridge. All PlayBooks have wifis installed on them. For it to work also as a phone, all you need to do is just BB Bridge it to your BB Smartphone. All your calls, smsesn BBM, everything is ported through (no data is stored on your playbook though) BB Bridge into your BB PlayBook. You can also utilize your BB smartphone's data connection (EDGE, GPRS, 3G) to the BlackBerry playbook.

Think of the Playbook as an extension to your BB SMartphone.

Thought it's just email, calander, add book, task list and BBM right that's ported over? Which is a shame, was hoping for SMS and what nots to be ported over to, would be nice to do most of the stuff through tablet when I'm home instead of having to go back to the phone, ala the new HP webOS stuff

Well, I'm not sure what the Bridge can exactly do and don't, but there were hints that it could do what you say. After all, what I've read (from CrackBerry's interviews with RIM CEO) is that "think of the Playbook as an extension to your current BlackBerry Smartphones.

I wonder!

If you direct convert yes but you have to take into account other costs as well. Its not that US of A is next to Selangor or KL. smile.gif

Oh... Got mine from Best Buy...
The other retailers don't allow for International orders...

Added on March 31, 2011, 12:19 pmIf any1 is interested I can try to get 1 or 2 additional unit in...
But must pay upfront 1st la...
Lemme know which variant of d Playbook u want

But I'll b very honest & tell u tat I'll mark up abt RM500-RM800.
This is due to delivery charges, sales tax, cost of bringing into MY, etc...
Tentative arrival date in MY is, late 1st week - erly 2nd week of May

Not trying 2 b a fanboy or anything, but how often wud u take a make a call or take a photo with ur TABLET?
As for not having 3G, I agree it's an inconvenience for some, but for those that already have a BB, there's already the BB Bridge!

i'm always use 3g video call... even my wife is not far from me.. just for a family man.. i dont think taking photo with 7" tablet is weird for me or you got problems with that? if ipad, yes of couse...little annoying because of it sizes..

years ago smartphones is the best, nowdays smartphone cant compete with tablet because of screen sizes.. when i bought my Nokia N80 internet.. i would say, is the best things i ever buy... since then i can surf net, 3g video talk & bla4... especially taking pictures & videos.. i enjoy it much..

now, when 7" tablet exploded the market... which one u choose? smartphone or tablet?

conlusions - portable & many functions... like 5 in 1 or 10 in 1...

regards,
MANSTIR

@Manstir:

I'll suggest you Samsung Galaxy Tab then. All in one as you wished.

We have reasons why we're quite happy with the WiFi model of the BlackBerry Playbook.
