We won't know, but I read somewhere that in the beginning somebody who were playing with pre-production units that did not have battery management installed, it wasn't that bad, with probably around 4 hours. Remember, it has flash. If an ipad were to run flash, expect only 1.5 hours lol.

There's a compromise needed. Still, the BlackBerry is truly a pockettable mobile tablet. I think that is a plus.

iPad 2 vs. BlackBerry PlayBook: 7 Enterprise Considerations

Which tablet is best for your enterprise? CIO.com's mobile maestro Al Sacco explains seven key factors, from security to connectivity options, that enterprises must consider before choosing between the Apple iPad 2 and RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook.

CIO — Steve Jobs tried to dismiss iPad's tablet rivals as "copycats" at Wednesday's iPad 2 launch. But whether Steve likes it or not, the tablet wars are officially on. And this battle will be decided not only by consumers and gadget lovers seeking the latest and greatest slates, but also by businesses and corporate workers looking for the next game-changing productivity tool.

Hurray...Good new. Dont worry no more apps.

RIM opens up BlackBerry PlayBook to support Android apps
by Jonathan S. Geller

The news we reported exclusively many months ago has just been officially confirmed by RIM — the company will indeed support Google Android apps on its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and on new QNX-based BlackBerry smartphones moving forward. RIM is also offering a suite of tools for Android developers that will allow them to easily port their existing apps to the PlayBook for distribution through BlackBerry App World. RIM’s full press release is after the jump.

RIM Expands Application Ecosystem for BlackBerry PlayBook

· BlackBerry PlayBook to support BlackBerry Java and Android apps

· Native C/C++ development support added, in addition to HTML5, Flash and AIR support

· Support from leading game engines: Ideaworks Labs (AirPlay) and Unity Technologies (Unity 3)

· BlackBerry PlayBook becomes a new market opportunity for all the developers who have already created over 25,000 BlackBerry Java apps and more than 200,000 Android apps..............

Better get from local set. Brightstar will bring in and their warranty offer is good. Min 18 months
I did claim the warranty for my 9780 before they replace me with a total new set. smile.gif

I am all time excited about Playbook. I dun really into a lot of app. What i need for tablet is a good twitter client, a desktop like browser, and email client. With a BB phone, playbook gain more feature like bt tethering, BBM and push email..Perfect.

The feature you're talking about is called BB Bridge. All PlayBooks have wifis installed on them. For it to work also as a phone, all you need to do is just BB Bridge it to your BB Smartphone. All your calls, smsesn BBM, everything is ported through (no data is stored on your playbook though) BB Bridge into your BB PlayBook. You can also utilize your BB smartphone's data connection (EDGE, GPRS, 3G) to the BlackBerry playbook.

Think of the Playbook as an extension to your BB SMartphone.
