I've decided to buy one of these car, by full payment (Cash).The age of these car is about the same, about 10 -15 years approximately...
Just want to ask sifu2 here about the comparison between this 2 cars in terms of:-

engine reliability
engine performance
fuel consumption
spare parts
maintenance cost

As a previous owner of EG9, my choice would be the Honda as it did not give me problem.... engine reliable and powerful engine... just my 2 cents...

assuming both stock engine
engine reliability = toyota
engine performance = both
fuel consumption = toyota
spare parts = honda more aftermarket parts
maintenance cost = toyota

old toyota memang the best, unlike the new vios/altis

hmm,toyota corrola can mod to 4AGE..vtec not bad too..i vote for honda

The only EG to get is EG6.

AE111....hopefully u get the 1 moded to 4AGE or stock 4AGE Levin AE111

it's kinda a hard choice you no?

what if i'm choosing either one of the type but with stock engine?

Get a stock 2nd hand car. Use until the engine give problem, then drop in blacktop 6spd.

silvertop 20v more powerful

why do you say that? blacktop is 20v also you know. plus got 6spd trans.

Black top vvt comes with 6speed sliver top only comes with 5speed. I think if the owner wants to marry the 6speeder transmission to the silver top he
will need to spend more money. I vote for black top also. Saw a video clip whereby the black top smokes b16a.

stock with stock, sure blacktop is more powerful...by 10hp.
but if modded, silvertop more powerful acually....can rev up to 11k rpms...honda vtec cnt...hahahaha
yep...the AE86 in initial D uses 4AGE ST 20V TRD Group A AE101 Levin engine....with 240HP@11k rpm

which of the 4A-GELU or 4A-GLEU is the blacktop/silvertop?

instead of using blacktop/silvertop engine, what if i just buy the SEG with stock engine?should there be any problems?
same to honda eg8, if just use with its stock engine?any problems?

no problem but those engine that they said gives alot of power for an 1.6L engine.. of course in malaysia u cant get those figure coz we only got RON97 at best and these engines need RON100 to comply..
same to all 4G92 MIVEC, B16A VTEC, 4A-GE Black/Silvertop, and Nissan SR16VE Neo-VVL

it made think of having both of SEG and EG..
but only afford to have one of them liao...

still haven't made up my decision yet..its kinda tough...
dun wan to regret later on..

I would choose EG8 ... given that it has a B16A/B/C AE111 looks ah pek-ish ..

this is correct, no matter how much hp those japan guys says, we'll never get 100% over here (except if u import the fuel yourself)

it's an easy decision, get seg if u r not planning to do heavy mods, eg if u want to mod kau kau

if EG8 with stock engine vs SEG with stock engine, which one u'll choose?
