iPhone is quite smart, you can always monitor your usage and also turn off cellular network which kills edge and 3G, im using the maxis ivalue 1 and i can barely reach 500mb every month and my limit is 1GB, so unless your friend used tethering i dont see why he can get overcharged.

u oso kno to mention iphone is a smartphone. eventho u turn off everything. ur data still will leak. there are quite a no of ppl being overcharged n most of them reach 500mb eventho no tethering. it depends on ur usage pattern.

Dude, they didn't state ONLY available at digi online store. It says it WILL BE sold at the DiGi online store. Like the blackberry and htc. Understand the usage of english in that sentence before criticizing. =.=.

Yeah and all of a sudden your command of english has increased manifolds? Didnt you ask the question based on the info you quoted? and isnt the info quite clear of the place where it'll be available if not why would they state 'Online Store'? Read the information posted before asking a question, the answer is clearly there, if they'd offer it at normal Digi Specialized Stores they'd put that little bit info there or if they do have plans to have it sold outright in their brick and mortar stores, they'd say something along the lines "Will also be available at your nearest Digi Centers and Specialised Centers after XX date". So whose england is sound now yours or mine?

Tell me who had a data leak after turning off cellular network? The point of that option in iOS 4 is to kill Edge which was the culprit for data leak in teh first instance, you can read the complaints in the other thread.

Yeah and we are here to answer politely to obvious questions that readily have answers? Since when did we practice spoon feeding here? If you cant understand simple english words, should i congratulate the person by saying "Win" instead? You asked the Digi CS and they said "Might" which equates to a 50%:50% possibility, then anything that we have to go by now is the same info posted by Infinity88, and that info pretty much sums the argument that Digi would initially offer outright purchases through it's online store with no clear indication or a deadline to offer the iPhone at their brick and mortar store, so isnt it clear that if you really need one, then go ahead and get it via their online shop rather than playing a waiting game for Digi to sell it outright at the physical stores?

He did say that he asked cs about it right? And they clearly stated 'might'. True it's a 50/50 chance. But they didn't state 'not available at digi centres'. Which refer to your statement ''and isnt the info quite clear of the place where it'll be available if not why would they state 'Online Store'? Read the information posted before asking a question, the answer is clearly there''. From what you stated , you're indirectly saying that the digi cs is lying about 'might' and you made a conclusion saying that it's 100% sold at digi online store and no where else for the promo .

Edit : excuse my unorganised post. Using iPhone.

here we go again, your assumption is amusing nonetheless, here in lies the problem with your understanding of things, lets examine the facts shall we?

- Digi's official statement said, available at online stores for outright purchase.
= Means all outright purchases will be done via Digi Online Store on November 1st. <- 100% confirmed

- Digi CS said 'Might' be available at Digi "Physical" Stores
= Means 50%:50% chance of them having the iPhone with no deadline. <- vague, 50% chance of it actually happening, going by this thread each time you call CS you get different answers, and again CS are FRONTLINERS whom arent aware of marketing plans that are being drawn out by the MARKETING TEAM over at Digi HQ, so whom'd you rather believe the MARKETING TEAM that makes decision on official announcements or the FRONTLINERS who know nuts?

And i still say at this point of time it'll be 100% sold at Digi Online Store since there is no official word that there will be any plans at this moment of time to sell outright purchases at physical stores, so no point speculating right? Just because they didnt say they will not offer at physical stores does not mean there is a possibility to offer anything at Digi specialized or centers in the near term.

It's not a point of me knowing the person or not, if they were people whom are experiencing data leak even after they turned off cellular network option under settings->general->network, that is already a serious allegation that can cost apple a lot of lawsuits already. I'm just wondering where can i find real instances of this data leak happening despite turning everything off, always remember Edge and 3G are the culprits, there are tons of sites like ours here that allow people to share their problems, im pretty sure "people that you allege suffering from this perdicament are aplenty" and have their rants over at Apple Support Discussions?. Basically im saying the same thing, try to read between the lines,we can only comment with little resources that Digi cares to share with us which is "Nov 1st available at online Store", and that is pretty much it, nothing else to add saying that it'll be available at physical stores at this point time is just pure speculation with no weight on it. Cheers. Oh and by the way, im pretty sure even if the iPhone was retailed at 4K,people would still buy it and mind you 4K is what the people paid in Lowyat plaza back in 2007.

No matter which telco you switch to, you also have to wait for the port over to be successful before they can process your new package. They can't possibly register the i88 for you before the port in is successful. What if your old telco reject the port in? Then you'll be charged both sides. Would you prefer that?
