We lack of physical present. By looking at it, BPL turns out to be more physical league compared to any other league. Our squad filled with injury prone players whistling.gif

Yep. Can't have all that we want can we? Arsenal is still a force to be reckoned with though. What happened to day was a malfunction. However, I believe Arsene's decision to remove Kos for Vela was a bad gamble. Not that I rate Kos very highly, but with Song not on song, and Clichy getting sleepy, removing a CB could spell doom at the back. And worse yet, Vela simply went invisible not long after he came on.

It was a mistake by Almunia. But where were the defending, or even the close up. Konscielny was just standing there rather than closing him down. I'll say for that goal, the root was Konscielny. But Almunia should have done better. If u ask me who's to blame for the 2nd, its definitely Konscielny.

No offense to the fans here, why do i have this "feeling" that our squad is not strong enough, not good enough to win the title. I don't know about you all, after i've watched Chelsea, united, City, i don't think the squad is as strong as them. I never had this feeling during the days of Henry, Bergkamp, Pires and Ljungberg. We lack of consistency, lack the mentality to win. Diaby went missing in the game, and it took Wenger 60+mins to realise that. I seriously think with the present of Wilshere and Rosicky would have change the game despite our poor defensive display.

Partly, i believe a lil on Wenger's fault on the line up against WBA. We were over confident, and this what happen.

Abysmal performance.. The moment we conceded the third goal I gave up. What angered me the most is Wenger took 60+ mins to realize Diaby wasn't fit today!! And Song just everywhere instead of doing his job properly. For Clichy, oh my, what happened to him?! I prefer Gibbs nowadays, at least Gibbs has better awareness instead of Clichy!!! Almunia.. nvm.

Its just a sad day for Arsenal. I hope these players would look at themselves and thought of what went wrong, and what they had given back to the fans. Arsenal jersey is not for them to jog around on the pitch.. We expect more!!!!

2nd goal was almunia fault. Koscielny just got confused because another stiker coming while clichy lost his possession. Aaaaa..

I too tend to over-glorify the untouchables at times, but to be fair they had their share of off days.

Anyway, quick analysis of the game:

Good:
1. Samir Nasri. I don't think he'll ever become a playmaker like Fabregas, but forcing him to become one will only hold back his other strengths. Samir is best used in a free attacking role where he is allowed to dribble and shoot; and for that to work even better we'll need a Fabregas-like player to feed him balls. Arshavin/Jack/Robin/even Rambo will be able to do so.

2. Chelsea and Spurs also lost hence the gap remains the same.

3. Laci is badass in his tackles... it's been a while since we've got someone who kicks hard.

4. Apart from the 2 goal freakish moments, WBA couldn't break us down despite us not being at our best; but that doesn't take away how awesome they look compared to other Allardycesque teams. Quick, accurate, passing and very tight man marking actually resembles how MU always play against us.

Bad:
1. Absolutely pathetic team performance - we had no midfield, the defence was in shambles, and most important of all the players didn't cover for each other. Too many gaping holes throughout the pitch.

2. When you hit the post 3 times you know it's not your day.

3. I was hoping for Arsene to give our lads a bollocking at half time, but it doesn't seem like he did; or if he did they didn't take it on board.

Individual performances:
Al - I thought he did pretty well initially - quick to come out to sweep, saved a penalty which is one of his strengths; until he did a Fabianski for WBA's second. Still our best keeper in the team to be honest - the main problem lies in our collective defensive abilities, not the keeper.

Bak - Sloppy, out of position too frequently, horrible crosses.

Clichy - Same as Bak. Still capable of amazing interceptions, but defensive lapses are once again apparent.

Kos & Laci - individually they are pretty good but as a partnership it'll still take time to work.

Song - Appalling. Didn't shield the defence like he normally does, and made lousy, misplaced tackles all afternoon. Produced quite a number of marauding runs into the box but that should have been Diaby's job, not his.

Diaby - Dilly-dally Diaby. Does anyone still not see why I insist that Denilson offers much more balance to our possession game? Denilson provides anticipation, interception, and passing options; Tommy provides the dynamic drive; Jack offers aggression and trickery; Abou unfortunately does nothing.

Nasri - Can't really fault him after trying to single-handedly holding up a poor team on his own. Missed a couple of glorious chances, but took his brace well. Love you Samir.

Andy - Worked hard, but unfortunately nothing came around. Got smacked by the WBA defenders all afternoon. Yet his decision-making, runs, and vision make him the first choice on our left wing; not Vela.

Eboue - All flash and no cash. Manu works best as a marauding defender bombing in from the right flank; not a free-role playmaker.

Chamakh - very limited ammo for him, but otherwise like his other mates it was a mediocre performance from Maroune too.

Vela - good intentions and vision, but overall bad execution which often gave away the ball. Nothing to shout about.

Jack - Should have started the game instead of Diaby but probably needed the rest. For someone so small, it's surprising to see him flying into tackles and kick the shit out of the opponents. Lovely ball possession and passes, but at his tender age Arsene will want to rotate him to avoid injuries/burnout.

Tommy - decent, but too little time to do anything spectecular. Not that he would be able to achieve much when everyone else bar Nasri is having a stinker.

Conclusion - A game that we never deserved to win. In retrospect, had we shown the kind of urgency in the final 15 minutes throughout the whole game, we might have gotten at least a point or even win it.

Right now, 0 points for how we played; 0 points is what we get.

It's been a long time since I have commented on this board. Been quite busy lately.

What can I say about the game? Nothing as I didn't watch the game, but it is a shock as to the scoreline. While looking at the lineup,I was not that surprised that we lost.

Some of our players, really, doesn't deserve 1st team place at all right now. Sagna and Clichy is having a fluctuating form right now. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I really think Clichy should be rested as he seems kind of jaded to me in the last few games. For Sagna,he is better that Ebue unfortunately,so prefer him then Eboue.

Diaby; he should be put in reserve right now. Never seen him perform at a great level since he joins Arsenal. Afew good games here and there just doesn't cut it for a player that is getting older by the years.

Arshavin; he too,in my opinion, really needs to be put on the bench for a few games. Let Rosicky or Nasri play in front of him. He sometimes just waste the ball with his runs and over complicated pass. Don't get me wrong, he is a great player. Just, I think he needs to be rested for a bit. He is being more erratic more that usual.

Chamakh,Koscielny,Squillaci; they are still being integrated into the team,so no wonder some mistakes will be done. Though Koscielny really need to step up. If not,he will be our 3rd CB,after Squillaci and Vermaelen.

Vela; he needs to step up and really get into the game. I hate it when he was sub in, lively for a few minutes, then fade into the background.

That is my rant. This are all in my opinion,so feel free to comment on it.

First half performance even though still levelled at 0-0, was really disappointing. Possesion lost cheaply.....resulted in our CB's had hard times defended our penalty box. Song did not link well with Diaby. I'd prefer Song-Denilson combo.

2nd half, Diaby should have been subbed earlier....The introduction of Wilshere and Rosicky made our defence tighter with both players tracking and closing down WBA players. Wilshere despite a small frame guy compared to Diaby was more agressive than the latter....

Credit also goes to WBA. They really worked as a unit. Defended well as a team. Every time our player held the ball, at least 2 of their players would come and close down. Just like what barca did in UCL against us last season.

But I believed Arsenal will bounce back after this game.....Thia game will remind our players that any team can be a threat....and not to take any game easily anymore and feel complacent.

I have had enough on Almunia, Diaby (diaby for the past 3season already). This 2 fuxking fellows are just waiting for weekly paid, looks like an old man jogging on field (imo, diaby is worse than Almunia, dont have the initiative to win back ball at all). The worst ever arsenal 1st team player in history. Please look at yourself, mr Diaby, compare to wilshere, wtf are you?

The time for Szczesny is now Mr Arsene Wenger.

Almunia and Fabianski will never ever improve.

Please stop this madness and do the right thing. Why have so much faith in 2 clowns that never justify the faith you put in them vmad.gif

I don't see why I should trust Almunia. Damn those statistics proves he is not good enough to be in ARSENAL! He keeps letting down our moral when it comes the GK as the LAST DEFENDER situation. GK should have a very good command and vision within his area. Unlikely Almunia didn''t have those, and I DO DEMAND FROM 2 YEARS AGO, WE HAVE TO GET A DECENT GOALKEEPER.

It's pointless no matter how much the forwards scored if our team keep letting balls slips in the net!

yup is 2 YEARS AGO since pak lehman left us and yet almunia still failed to prove that he is no.1... epic phailed

agree... if those 2 failed to impress... why not go for the 3rd guy...? if all fail? then buying a new one is the best solution... AW need to wake already or is he senile already.... GK is the cheapest among all positions

Yeah that too especially for picking 2 unfit players in Diaby and Eboue then taking ages to realize that they were doing nothing in the game.

Oh and subbing out Koscielny for a striker which inevitably led to the third goal for Westbrom making a comeback so much harder.
