FaceTime
FaceTime on iPod touch lets you hang out, catch up, and goof off with friends in an entirely new way. With just a tap, you can see what your friends are up to — literally. Witness a prank in action. Or watch your friend on the other side of the country crack up at your stories from last night — new iPod touch to new iPod touch or iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi. And all you need to get started is an Apple ID and an email account. You can choose an email account you already have or, if you prefer, set up a new one. You’ll never see fun the same way again.

Retina Display
The Retina display on iPod touch brings out the awesome in anything on it. That’s because it’s the highest-resolution iPod screen ever, with four times the pixel count of previous iPod models. In fact, there are so many pixels, the human eye can’t distinguish individual ones. Which makes graphics and images stunningly sharp, and text amazingly crisp. Just like the printed page.

HD video Recording
“You should have seen it!” is a thing of the past. Because with iPod touch, you’ll always have a great HD video camera with you. Say you’re at a party and you see someone popping and locking. You’re ready to capture the moment in all its glory. In high-definition 720p video. You can record video in low-light settings, thanks to the advanced backside illumination sensor.

GameCenter
It’s time to make a game plan. The new Game Center app on iPod touch lets you add more players to your gaming network. Invite friends to join. Then totally dominate them. Take a look at how your score ranks against your friends and other players of each game. Compare game achievements with your friends. Put together a select group of friends to play with. Or choose to automatically go up against people you don’t know in a multiplayer game. So get in the game. And get your friends in it, too.

Sleek new design.
iPod touch has an all-new design that makes it the thinnest, lightest, most amazing iPod touch ever. Holding one is all the proof you need. With its curved design, iPod touch is now a mere 7.2 millimeters thin. Its engineered glass front and stainless steel back feel sleek and smooth in your hand. Turn it on, and you're instantly blown away by the brilliant Retina display. iPod touch is the perfect combination of stunning design and revolutionary technology — brilliant from the outside in.

A4 Processor
The Apple A4 chip is behind, or rather underneath, all the fun you can have on iPod touch. Apple engineers designed the A4 chip to be a remarkably powerful yet remarkably power-efficient mobile processor. With it, iPod touch can easily perform complex jobs such as multitasking, editing video, and placing FaceTime calls. All while maximizing battery life. And fun.

Gyro+Accelerometer
Smooth moves. iPod touch just learned some new moves. It now includes a built-in three-axis gyroscope. When paired with the accelerometer, the gyro makes iPod touch capable of advanced motion sensing such as user acceleration, full 3D attitude, and rotation rate. Translation: More motion gestures and greater precision for an even better gaming experience.

Two Cameras
Pod touch captures video with two built-in cameras. It shoots amazing HD 720p video from the back camera. And with its advanced backside illumination sensor, it captures beautiful footage even in low-light settings. All while the built-in microphone records conversations, music, or any audio at the same time. And on the front of iPod touch, the built-in camera is perfect for making FaceTime calls1 and shooting self-portraits. It’s surprising how much fun can fit into something so small.

Built-in speaker.
A built-in speaker lets you hear the music, dialogue, and action without headphones, perfect for casual listening.

Longer battery life.
Now you can keep on rocking (and watching and playing) even longer. Improved battery life means iPod touch provides up to 36 hours of audio playback or 6 hours of video playback — enough to watch three or four movies between charges.*

Rock ’n’ run with Nike+.
iPod touch offers built-in wireless support for Nike + iPod. All you need to do is insert a Nike + iPod sensor into your shoe and start running.

Music
Flip through your library by album artwork. Create Genius Playlists on the go. And add to your collection by shopping the iTunes Store from any Wi-Fi hotspot.

Movies + TV Shows
Movies and TV shows pop off the 3.5-inch widescreen display. Choose from thousands at the iTunes Store and take them with you everywhere.

Internet
Browse the web with Wi-Fi. Get rich HTML email, including attachments. Get directions and live traffic reports. Feed your YouTube addiction.

Q&A

Q How to Facetime with iPod Touch?
A: Facetime identifies you on the basis of your email address. Just go to Settings > Facetime > On. In case your email address is not verified you will receive the instructions via an email from apple.
When calling an iPod touch, use the email address designated for FaceTime of the person you are calling.

Q: How to Facetime on iPhone with iPod Touch users?
A: Dummies Guide to Facetime on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch

Q:
1. Just wanna clarify a few things. What is the exact mega pixel for the back camera? I heard dat its below 1 MP.
2. Can the Itouch be used like the Phone GPS? Some say yes, some say no. If it can onli be connected to wifi, means it cannot be used to trace ur location unless u have wifi.
3. But anyway, u can dl da google maps n follow its directs, am I rite?
4. Does Itouch has a FM receiver?
5. Any more elaborations bout the blue tooth? Does it works like ur normal phone bluetooth?

A:
1) camera is around 0.67 megapixels
2) no GPS, but you can use wifi to triangulate your position (not vry accurate though)
3) yes you can use google maps, but you need wifi for that. Unless you are able to preload the directions beforehand
4) FM receiver... not vry clear on this, some said there is but you'll need to jailbreak to use it since it isnt active but i think its quite unlikely
5) bluetooth can only be used to transfer files fr pc to ur pod, no connection btw phones/pods. U can use the bluetooth for games connection though. [by levanter]

Btw guys, there's a gathering in 1Utama on the 4th of October for iPhone 4, iPad users and you can join us if anyone of you are free. Here's the link: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1576917

I know that iPod users have not organise a TT (Teh Tarik session) and may this will be a good time to start a meet up.

Also, all are welcome. You can try out facetime, play online games with each other, check out iPad etc

Anyway, back to thread topic discussion.

Cheers

All post regarding screen protector, casing, power adpter moved to the existing thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1104445/+180

Kindly use that thread for all your casing and accesories discussion and that's what the thread is for. If iPhone and iPad users can post in the correct thread, i don't see why iPod users can't.

Seems useless pinning it up the casing and accesories thread and you guys don't even post in the right thread. Unpinning the thread.

Anyway, anymore discussion on casing or iPod related accesories in this thread, post will be deleted and will not be moved anymore.

Thank you

Thanks for cleaning the mess.

I myself was a new comer before to the thread, didn't know that there's a separate thread specified for casings and accessories. I think people still discussing about casings and accessories in this thread probably because there's "Everything about iPod" under the title. Maybe people got mixed up abit with that.

G'day.
*
Most welcome mate.

The reason why "Everything about iPod" is there because we started the first thread since those early days and we have kept the subtopic as it is until today. Even tho i may change the subtopic to Q&A Discussion, forumers will still post on casings etc because Q&A Discussion as subtopic is very general as well.

If you do check iPhone and iPad subforum, we do have threads for accesories and casings and i hardly need to move any post because the thread is available to them to post.

I do notice a trend or a habit of forumers not reading the pinned threads and they always read the threads below them pinned thread. Hence, i unpin the casings and accesories thread so that more forumers will take notice.

Anyway, we are not here to stop anyone from posting. Moderators are here to help and it will be great if everyone just post their queries in the right thread. That helps alot.

Cheers
