if ur game is R3, better use DLC from R3..
some DLC not compatible with diff game region..

hiya guys, i've read the manual not to put ps3 ontop of wooden materials right?
so i was wondering any suggestions to prevent the bottom of the ps3 laying on my wooden shelf?

put something else in between the shelf and the console.. for my case i got this rectangular plastic cube the 8" x 5" in between and a small fan for cooling down the console..

hmm...and mine was always on top of my hard wood tv table...and now in SG on my wife's hard wood floor...
any reason why it can't be on top of wood? scared the wood will burst into flames?

not sure why it's only refer to wood..
for me, i just want to make the covered surface at the console to be lesser so air can flow and help reduce the heat.. this refer to the bottom of ur PS3.. u can also tried to put something at the corner of your console, like a lego cube maybe.. then pun a small fan infront of it.. this way the air will travel both from top and bottom of the console..

btw,blowing air onto your console isn't good as far as i know and from what i read over the internet,it blows the dust instead back into ur console or some sort.

correct kakuta, don't blow fan directly.. dust will go in.. sorry did not make it clear earlier.. 'small fan' i refer here is the small one at pasal malam.. it looks colorful and spin with a slow speed.. gifts shop got sell this fan..

Hi guys, need some advice here.

I've got a PS3 bought about 3 years ago when Sony Malaysia first started selling them officially. Lately, my 5 y.o. son been playing a lot on it and a problem developed. When playing any disc game, the ps3 would shut down a few minutes afterwards and theres a red light blinking. I can only restart the ps3 manually after that and theres usually a message "Your PS3 wasnt shut down properly....bla bla" before the normal start screen.

I think its a overheating problem. My questions are:

1. How much does it usually cost if i send it to Sony for repairs? Is it worth sending it since some people reported that their problem wasnt fixed when they got their ps3 back.

2. If I buy a new slim ps3, can I use my 500gb hd from my fat ps3?

Mine is also place on my wooden cabinet...juz check after 5 hrs gaming off ps3 after 10 mins the wood is still very hottt (in aircond room)
I wonder if we can use those small rubber balls thingie that ppl put under laptops...put under ps3..also can try put pc fan under ur ps3...

my ps3 also have the same problem last wednesday..except mine just keep blinking and cannot ON.
currently with Benard for repair (my PS3 is SG set coz no Msia PS3 that time)..
sent for repair yesterday..hoping to get a good news tomorrow
crossing my finger that it will be okay..coz i just got the time to play it now.

and yup you can use the 500GB hd to a new slim ps3

That's YLOD ady lor... Mine also showing signs. I think i'm going to buy a laptop fan and put on the btm of the PS3 so can btm and top can flow air.
Mine also rest on hard wood

1. Your ps3 got YLOD. Unless you feel like spending another RM1300+ for a new slim ps3, I recommend you to send it back to Sony for repairs because it is probably cheaper then buying a new slim ps3.

2. You can switch your HDD from your fat to a new slim ps3

on the thing about dont put ps3 on wooden table, that means better put ps3 vertically standing isit? (with the vertical stand)

my data 150GB above after i cleared a few PSN games
project start from 12:00am and everything work perfect at 6:00am
i have to wait u know
since i set my phat 1 hours automatic shut down
so scare lol, i`m not sure either the system will auto shut down or not
so best way is i have to wait and monitor

so to other next time make sure to reset back auto off ps3 system
so u can sleep well while your data is running
don`t be worse like me last nite
never sleep until 6:00am

p/s:feel a little stranger since using new slim US consule

u can set password on security tab.it only lock for the content such as games,vids,musics & pics.set the parental control to 1 and everything inside ur ps3 will request password when to start games.its not locking the account but the content.

hey can someone please tell why isn't my trophies appearing on my psn trophy card or even on my psn profile through online ?

I have 6 bronze trophy in Sports champion but it's not appearing in the psn card however if i do check it in my trophy collection on my ps3,i have 6 trophies.This goes the same for RDR and Uncharted:The drake's fortune..however the only game that has been only my trophy list card is FIFA 11(6) and F1 10(5).ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM ?
