I opened up the DS3 just to check if the battery was the issue.

Swapped the battery to another working controller = can charge pulak

What could be wrong?

I guess it has to be original as I bought it a the launch of PS3 Slim MY in 1U.
Can anyone here please advice me what to do?

Probably a dead board.
Can't do anything about it, return it for warranty.

That's not "master reset".
By doing that, you're just returning the PS3's display settings to its default. Do it longer and it'll return the settings to its default.

Nothing to do with your data.

It's normal.
Not ALL games will have an audio preview.
Heck, there are games that doesn't even have a preview at all, they just stay blank.

So yea, not a problem with your console or anything.
It's just how the game is presented.

Not exactly BAD... leave it in there if you want.
But just for the sake of safety of the lens not lighting as soon as you turn on the PS3 and the disc doesn't spin right away with cold gears.

Nothing critical to be afraid of, but I'd suggest you take it out everytime you shut off your PS3.
The PS3 BD-drive are slot drives, not trays or top-loaders like the 360 or PS2.

Wow... I thought it never did need em'.

Well in that case you can get these sorta thing in LYP or Imbi Plaza I think?

Otherwise what I used to do was using the PS3, A/V audio-in to soundcard and then soundcard audio out to the headphones.
Works without issues, even if using the stereo cables will give you only 2.0 you can always use the soundcard to emulate 5.1.

An improper shutdown, which prompted a default reset to the display settings.
Just set it back to 1080p under Display Settings then.

1) Either way, doesn't matter. But since yours the phat model, you don't want to smudge your PS3 then just off via your controller.
2) Maximum hours? As long as you can tahan la... as long as you're playing in a cool room.

Just de-activate all the accounts on your phat PS3 first.
ONLY then you start transfering.

If the accounts on your PS3s aren't shared accounts, it is up to you if you want to de-activate them or not.

After transfering them to the slim, go into each account individually and re-activate them.

That's basically all you need to do.
If you get an error code when transferring, try deleting all your game data (NOT SAVE DATA) then transfer over.

To test, download some demos or play some games that are directly from your HDD.
If you face issues... yea, HDD problem.

Put your router next to your PS3 then.

Otherwise, don't build any walls in between where your PS3 is and where your router is.

Number of blades depends on size actually.
For the PS3 phat, the 15 blade design was actually more efficient.

In reality though, theres really no difference in which is the better fan.
They both push out the same amount of cfm.

More blade = soft air flow only applies to "IF" the fan has space.
In an enclosed compartment, the lesser blade design was more efficient.

You are right though, Sony went to the more blades design for lesser noise.

Actually, at first Sony did considered changing to fluid-bearing instead while keeping the fan design the same, but since they had to continue cutting costs for the phats... that didn't materialise.

Swissknife isn't (or rather, doesn't want to) able to format an entire 1TB drive into FAT32.
Understand that FAT32 was never intended for such a huge volume of space.

Use Acronis True Image from the WD website and you should be able to get your 500GB back however.

Your TV does not have an upscale feature, that means the game will be forced to play in 480p/576p.
At 480p, your TV will upsclae to its native 1024x768, games will look blur.

Disable 1080p and just use 720p.

Because that plasma was one of the earlier generations of plasma TVs, 2nd generation infact...
Most plasmas back then (year 2001-2003) only has a max resolution of 1024x768, some were still 800x450 actually.

Simple.

1) Connect your PS3 with a HDMI cable to your monitor.
2) Use an auxilary cable (3.5mm) and connect that from your monitor Audio Out port to your Computer's onboard sound I/O, connect to the BLUE hole.
3) Go to your PS3's Sound Settings on the XMB, set Sound output to A/V.


That's it.

Your computer and PS3 will now play audio simultaneously.
Understand that your PC needs to be on or else there won't be sound, as the audio from the PS3 is passing through your PC to your speakers.
