After a second look at the offer and comparing it with other 2 telcos, celcom plan is tailored more to data, and they offer less free inter-operator call minutes (100 as compared to 333 from maxis). This is however offset by almost unlimited calls to celcom number.

The subsidy for Iphone is almost the same for these 3 telcos, they just play around with numbers to sell their product. I am speculating that celcom's offer comes with 2 years contract.

I think most people get Iphone for Data purpose. I find myself using SMS a lot less nowadays thanks to whatsapp. My call is like RM10 a month only already. A bit wasteful wit maxis, but another 2 weeks to go before my contract with maxis expires!

If according to the unconfirmed leaked plan, Celcom still offer the cheapest price right? or am I wrong?

Celcom: ip4 16GB - RM1148 + RM420 (Upfront) = RM1568
Digi: ip4 16GB - RM2090 + RM500 (Upfront) = RM2590

Correct me if I'm wrong//

If you're an existing customer (been using Celcom postpaid for that 1 year) likely you will NOT need to mae the upfront payment.

That's what the customer service people told me and that's what I did last month when I upgraded my Blackerry plan from the Exec/9700 to the Biz/9780.

They waived the RM300 upfront payment smile.gif

So I believe you might be able to get away with not paying the RM400+. Call customer service this weekend to confirm.

Whle I have crazy love for Apple & Celcom's great coverage+ call/data cost, I cannot stand touchscreen phones. So likely no iPhone for me for now. Who knows, in 2 years after my contract expires... hmm.

My sister just signed up for the Digi contract 2 months ago and now she's regretting like crazy 'cause they SUCK so much. And maxis... is WORSE. Says if the cost of breaking contract isn't much, she'll jump back to Celcom (prev using Celcom's BB plan, paid 500 to break and port to Digi for iPhone).

Itulah. When ppl say be patient tak mau. Now regretting like crazy.

No one to correct you till the exact announced plan comes out. Till then, we should stop speculating.
