haha i rather spend the 3k to buy lens XP
but yes, 35mm lens definitely is nice to bring out for casual use plus the size not as bulky as dslr (but still not pocketable) |

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Sep 20 2010, 05:46 PM) oppss my bad.no zoom lens aka prime lens gives better image quality. some can argue on this but well... lenses like this has lesser distortion too. as for me, i prefer prime lens because of the lesser distortion. and i find that even if i would to use a zoom lens, i don't zoom it but rather i walk front / back so for me it's a waste of time and effort in using a zoom lens. 2nd reason is there is no zoom lenses for the type of camera that i am using (large format camera) i do not like to waste time in zooming. i rather waste time in looking at the scene and composing a good image. i am used to this method of photographing things. that's why i prefer a non zoom / prime lens |

QUOTE(ianho @ Sep 20 2010, 05:59 PM) hahahahaadon't say that... but don't you think that it's nicer to work with a prime lens? fixed 35mm or 50mm on a camera... i don't have to worry about the camera and lens anymore, i spend more time looking at a scene and *snap* very henri cartier-bresson like |

It's not a system, and definitely not an "upgrade". From (for example) EPL1 to Oly E-5 then it's an upgrade. X100 is more of a sidekick, backup for Dslr.

Depends on how you look at it. Almost all the specs are better than E-PL1.

Fixed Focal Length meaning that you only have a standard focal length range? let's say 0.1 ~ 10m, beyond or or below that would be out of focus?

X100 price is out. Same as Leica X1 price.
Added on September 21, 2010, 8:43 am QUOTE(daruma @ Sep 20 2010, 09:13 PM) The Photokina 2010 winner so far: Fujifilm Finepix-x100 This post has been edited by gogo2: Sep 21 2010, 08:43 AMBy PR ADMIN | Published: SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 Fuji did surprise everyone with the new Finepix-x100 camera. Previous rumors indicated a new Fuji m4/3 camera, but nothing was even close to the real x100. The initial feedback from the online community is very positive. Was it so difficult to figure out what consumers really want? How comes that Fuji got it right from the first time? We still have to see some reviews, but I think this camera will be a winner. Some more details: According to nikkei.com, the price is expected to be around 150,000 yen (around $1700) which is almost the price of a Leica X1. Availability: Spring 2011. Fujifilm Finepix-x100 brochure. |
