QUOTE(boxsystem @ Oct 5 2010, 11:43 AM) meh, arr we still talking about vdv? only 4 draws in the start of the season we already have people doubting SAF in not buying vdv? just some typical knee-jerk reaction...will disappear once the team kicks into higher gear and pressure for the summit of the league watching the Liverpool financial saga, i wonder will we be in their boot in the coming future? i mean our own Uncle Glazer also in some serious debt now

QUOTE(O-haiyo @ Oct 5 2010, 12:26 PM) Yup, the financial saga really makes me worry. We got Fergie to stabilize the ship now, but how long more can he manage the club? I can't imagine what will happened when the old man leaves. i think that's why Fergie is planning for the future, buying promising youngsters so that the club will have continuation of good players without spending much(if the financial deteriorate in the future) then again, there's another question: will the manager(s) of post Fergie era be able to handle the pressure/task of steering the ship.... and most importantly, when will Uncle Glazer let go?

QUOTE(angel-face @ Oct 8 2010, 09:21 AM) do footballers that retired from their club get pay? i mean like monthly lo...LOL you mean like penchant? i don't think so...which is why you can see some famous footballer gone bankrupt after years of retirement

QUOTE(angel-face @ Oct 8 2010, 11:45 AM) omg..then how bout legend status? like SIR BOBBY? so old d...how to work o? Sir Bobby Charlton is a member of the board of directors at United from 1984 until now and he also runs some businesses and soccer schools, so no problem for living but in the end, its all up to that footballer's own attitude, if one spends like running water, then not even a whole mountain of gold is enough to fund his habit This post has been edited by dlct87: Oct 8 2010, 11:54 AM

QUOTE(O-haiyo @ Oct 8 2010, 04:32 PM) http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...england&cc=4716guys, do we still make profit of 40M or, the 60M net loss says everything? don't know how to decide....since the 100M income maybe the success marketing strategy by the Glazers, but then again, the debt they threw into the club is still the main issue to tackle...

one big disadvantage of those non-Europe players....the travel times on plane for their international duties are just insane and hopefully our young lads (Macheda, Welback, Cleverley, Smalling) and those under 19s will have impressive performance

hopefully the "brand" of the club (100M profit if no debt per season) will be able to attract buyers and shoo the Glazers away...

QUOTE(zenix @ Oct 9 2010, 10:46 AM) if VDS leaves end of this season and buffon isn't young it would mean (if buffon is good here) another 4-5 seasons only. i heard it too Buffon will be 33 next year, but then again, VDS joined United when he was 34-35, and no one expected him to play for us for 6 seasons GK's "life expectancy" is much longer compare to other positions, so Buffon is certainly viable as a replacement

QUOTE(Sheep319 @ Oct 12 2010, 05:59 PM) it's hard to believe that the legendary Henrik Larsson was at United for a brief moment, and to think he actually made a huge contribution to United. if he didn't made the commitment to go back to his old club when the period if over at that time....
