lol they say milestone cpu beat desire z cpu?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6droPt2v8o

see how fast the desire z boot up.. i dont think the milestone is even close to that

As it says in the description, it's not technically switched off. It's more like a standby. It still uses a little amount of battery. If you take out the battery then the speed would be 'normal'.

That is only fastboot la.. haha.. not a total shutdown of the device.. but neat feature already.. its like placing the phone on hibernate when you totally wish to keep away from your itchy hands and do stuffs.. its to tempted and hands get itchy to perhaps say swipe the homescreen for no reason..

i must say its admiring own homescreen set up.. lol..

bootup time only. thats some technology helping it on like a superstandby??

u want to compare, u compare with fps performance, and multitasking.

standby mode would drain the battery like crap then what is the point offing the phone? i dont think its in standby mode.. go see engadget's video showing it

Isn't the specification for DESIRE HD higher than this phone?

this i will go for "milestone 2" nod.gif
*
Both are equally good device, but based on my comparison, the GPU for the Desire Z should be better than the milestone2's aged PowerVR SGX530. The Adreno 205 is more or less equal if not slightly better to the PowerVR SGX530, which is used in the Iphone 3GS and the Iphone 4.

Besides that, even though the camera 5MP is same in terms of res, the milestone2 uses the same sensor in the older milestone, which is terrible.

And the milestone2 does not have radio, IINM.

Software wise, HTC Sense UI has the best widgets and user experience, but motoblur isnt that bad either. Just that milestone2 is less mod friendly than HTC's phones.

In terms of keyboard, depends whether u prefer the chiclet keys on desire z or the domed keys on milestone2.

A few things mileston2 win is in display resolution, which it has 54 more lines of pixels, and its huge inbuild ROM of 8GB!

htc desire z vs motorola milestone 2 comparison

milestone with locked bootloader is more powerful (android 3.0 ready?)
*
All should be android 3.0 ready. Most probably updates will be faster for the desire z because of the T-Mobile vanilla android phone. I reckon there will be lots of intermodded roms for this two twins.

Yes the Desire HD spec is higher, but its a different class of phone. That is a candy bar while this has a keyboard smile.gif

That's something I don't understand, HTC has been designing a lot of lower end smartphone (as compared to the current Desire), and the problem is that some of the graphic might not able to support certain games and apps ... it will be rather dissapointing to the user. This new phone running on a lower speed processor as compared to the existing Desire, I hope it will perform on par to avoid complaints ... Wildfire and Aria are definitely a loser but newer phone as compared to Desire.

I said its like standby, I didn't say it is standby. There's not really a term for it so I used standby for easier understanding purposes. I guess it's my mistake for your misunderstanding. It basically switch off most of phones feature but kept just enough powered to keep the phone 'running' hence the quick bootup. It was never switched off. My guess is like hibernate but everything is shoved into the RAM for quicker load hence still need some power and why it won't work when the battery is pulled out.

People seriously need to learn not to compare clock speed for perfomance. Would a P4 2.8Ghz be any better than a i3/i5 2.8Ghz? This proc has been optimized and a new GPU which is faster than any current GPU units.

benchmarks are raw comparison i guess.. max fps and gaming performance is somehow a better way to grade.. some phones are benchmarked high but suffers from caps such as vsync and hdmi output cap.. how it performs on graphical duties and daily usage is a slightly different story but still can be compared to the benchmark results.. i must say the desire Z specs are not disappointing and definitely an upgrade compared to htc desire
