Even phones just hot fresh from CES 2011 is still on Froyo or Gingerbread. You can wait if you choose to. Honeycomb is tailored for tablet, its presence on phone still yet to be seen. There are still Ice-cream to come if you can wait even longer. I do not see many Froyo OTB phones in Malaysia at this time, let alone Gingerbread.

If you need those up to date OS revisions as soon as they launched, get a Nexus. My two cent.

Just got LG Optimus One from LY at RM 870 + RM20 (for screen protector, slip casing, 2gb memory card). Nice one, but compare to Galaxy 5 which i used early, sound setting quite soft. but overall is very good.

Ok so I'm going to LYP tomorrow (thought of going today), and then I searched back this thread and found this, 1Handphone selling O1 at barely over RM800. Is this shop OK? The website looks legit and there's even a shop in Kepong (which is closer to my house), I'm just wondering if anyone (not limited to O1) has ever dealt any business with them?

Not rooted. Not such purpose to me as it has already in Froyo, not intended to try other ROM.

Android 3.0 codenamed Honeycomb, should be first seen in Motorola tablet, XOOM.

i havnt root my O1 yet.. as i updated the firmware before i read that V10E cannot be rooted..

Any pictures of the phone, screen protector, casing? Comments on performance and apps when you've gotten used to it, please.

yup, waiting game is neverending. tech will move fast, just grab as it comes.

as long as O1 gets gingerbread (which is confirmed), im happy already. then when honeycomb comes out & price reasonable time to trade-in or sell O1.

Just got my O1 yesterday. Overall is good and its suitable for android entry level users even though I already have HTC Desire. Hehe
