QUOTE(akachester @ Oct 22 2010, 02:57 PM) Well, at the moment, i do have a 500D with the Tammy 1750 NonVC and i do love it. Tested my cousin's D90 with 18-105 and i found it to be quite good. Especially love the range offered. Am trying to make sure the extra 1k here is worthy or not. I mean, i do love the 18-105 as a start (i never used any Nikon before) but just making sure at around the same range, whether there is any other lens that is about the same price and more worthy. Well, at least i am trying to see whether i would skip the 18-105 for the Tammy 1750 again cause it has been serving me quite well on a Canon. The problem with the Tammy for me is that i at times, need to constantly switch to a tele and this is where the 18-105 is very attractive. I thought of getting the D7k body only and pair with the Tammy 17-50mm VC version. I drop the extra range of 18-105 as I already hav a zoom lens, no point getting it, and the F2.8 of tammy performs much better at low light =) |

QUOTE(kamen rider #1 @ Oct 31 2010, 03:11 PM) i test D7000 at mid valley yesterday... Hey..... I got the same thing in my mind too!!! It's not even close to sharp(very noisy) at iso200 eh after zoom in 100% using the 28-300 lens at 38mm (I only tried the one wit this lens, not the 18-105)there's are some iso / noisy / pixel issue... i dont know whether its setting or what... maybe somebody can try there and comment ?... maybe bring your own sd card and save a few picture... I wonder it's any settings related to this or wat the hell is goin on with this D7000?? but at iso 800, it's better than D90. Anybody can clarify my doubt?? QUOTE(flame_burstz @ Nov 2 2010, 11:57 AM) Well, everyone is chasing for the latest technology but the most important is to figure out what is more suitable for own shooting needs. How u mean the duration it takes to lock focus? D300s focusing mechanism is better den D7000? I tot D7k got a new focussing sensor? bigger motor focus motor u mean? Sry I din do comparison btw D300s b4, lol....Truthfully, I think D300s is the best I have came across that I can shoot instantaneously if I notice interesting subject and don't need to be bothered about the duration it takes to lock focus. Went to KLPF to clasp the D7000, in term of design wise almost similar to D90 except for the material and better rubber grip. D300s body is preferable |

QUOTE(flame_burstz @ Nov 2 2010, 12:12 PM) When it comes to AF system and focus points, the Nikon D300s has a superior pro-level AF sensor with 51 focus points and 15 cross-type sensors while D7000 has 39 focus points and 9 cross-type sensors. D300s is very tempting huh..... summore cost not much further than D7000 only. Haaiz.... but i afraid after getting D300s, later replacement of D300s with new sensor technology comes out, den...... In addition, D300s is fully covered while D7000 only having top and back covers made of magnesium alloy. Just my point of view. Different people may have different idea & preference |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Nov 2 2010, 02:37 PM) Really retarded for Kent3888. What's the point keep chasing new gears while your photos are piece of junk ? Which photos of mine u said is PnS and piece of junk?? I've enough of you, don think you r so pro! I just wanna choose properly btwn D7000 and D300s since I planned to upgrade and both are not much diff in price wise. Seriously all your photos are PnS. Polish your skill instead of being a gear head. I can see others using D40 but shooting nicer than your previous D5000. And I used to shoot pre-wedding with D5000 too. Skill matters more than gears ! Below is the album that KTCY says it's P&S!! show some respect to noob ppl you idiot!! I've experienced less than 1 year, but you doesn't give chance for me to improve?? mind ur words!! http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1570887&hl= |

I know D7000 has higher pixel density hence will create higher noise compared to that of D300s. Dat's y I am unsure with the performance of D7000 in noise control, I personally tried it but felt it's not as good as I though in terms of noise control, I have high hope because I saw review of D3100 shows very good noise control. My question is if D7k would serve me well for another 2 more years, I'm more than happy for it. It's like ppl bought D90 back in 2008, would never regret for it. Juz dunno how well Nikon done their job for D7k this time in terms of new sensor technology.

QUOTE(edwardgsk @ Nov 7 2010, 03:46 PM) You already mentioned "SLT" A55 in your post right? Yeah.... no mirror shutter and that's how SLT can achieve 10 frames/sec!! but quality wise, I really doubt it, haha....Yeah lah. A55 is not a Digital SLR. It's a SLT (Single Lens Translucent) camera, that's why it's using LCD for viewfinder instead of mirror/pentaprism used for SLR/DSLR |
