QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 11 2010, 06:01 PM) I'm very interested to know how did you claim D300s has faster focusing than D7000? Any data to prove this? Don't just say D300s has more advance AF and etc blablah. The D7000's system is new and who knows it might be even faster than D300s'. Focusing speed not something to do with the focus motor driving it? I thought D300s has a much bigger motor hence faster focus. I know D7000 has new 2056RGB sensor improve auto focus, but I thought it will just affect the processing speed and accuracy. I asked b4, the 50mm F1.4G do focus faster on higher end body, then I know even with SWM, body still makes a diff.Well of course if you've some data to prove this then I'll listen |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 11 2010, 07:09 PM) Like I said, let's compare with a new lens with SWM. What makes you think D300s will focus faster than a D7000? No reviews comparing this yet, nor you've used both of them right? A bit unfair to the D7000. Ooo.... then tat's a good news for me, hope D7000 focusing mechanism doesnt disappoint us, then it's worth investing in newer technology then My thinking is that, the D7000 might be on par or maybe faster than D300s due to new AF system. 2056RGB is just for metering and probably scene mode. I guess that might just affect if you're using area mode, but if single point I don't think the 2056 RGB sensor will make any differences. Do you guys think in 2 years time, the D7000 body price will drop to around 2.5k (juz for my info)? Or D7000 is a diff class with D90, sry I've no idea how much is D90's body when it was launched in 2008. No doubt after 2 years, it's still a very good cam till now... QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 12 2010, 08:29 AM) Pretty reasonable price for D7000, just slight pricier than D90 when it was launched 2 years ago. Guess this will boost Nikon sales just like what the D90 did previously. How much was D90 body when it was launch 2 years ago? but it's pretty reasonable if it was around 3.5k and drop to 2.5k throughout 2 years la..... hope I can gain experience and capture superb pictures to cover back the depreciate value, haha.... |

From the pixel peeper comparison of Dpreview, y the Canon 60D seems to have better noise control than the D7000? Even the D300s is bettter? haaizz....

Really sucks ler..... it disappoint me so much if it's really accurate test!! Haaiz.... I thought the newer sensor with much better iso control is the point for me to get the D7000 over the D300s, but seem really disappointing!!

QUOTE(akachester @ Nov 12 2010, 10:16 AM) Funny how some review shows great pictures while there are others that are, as said, muddy even at ISO3200. Is it a batch problem or the reviews should not be trusted at all? Ya worr..... my mind was telling me don't believe these reviews.... as D7000 should out performs all, somewhere FX level of noise control.I rmb I saw photos taken D3100 new sensor was superbly sharp at even iso1600, so I think D7000 would b a beast =.= |

QUOTE(Bliz @ Nov 14 2010, 10:58 PM) Mind sharing the performance?? Should i ditch the D700 (still awaiting for it to arrive) or get this d7k haha Don laugh at us who use DX la bro..... ditch D700 for D7k?? U r telling me u wanna sell ur Mitsubushi Lancer for Proton Inspira when ppl claim inspira's handling better den Lancer?? hahaaa.......All improvement on the D7000 is really impressive especially the autofocus speed!! There is one thing make me really sad..... the images turns out to be very soft even at iso200, till now I still dunno why!! compared to my previous D5k, at iso 200, u can see the razor sharp image when u zoom in 100% to see the person's eyes! but with D7k, the face like being photoshop with gaussian blur!! Any pro here tested out mind to share, so sad for this point, haaiz.... This post has been edited by Kent3888: Nov 15 2010, 12:20 AM |

QUOTE(Areas Elysian @ Nov 15 2010, 12:56 AM) I have not tested out both and I am not a pro but.. I used the same lens for both, 35mm 1.8, it's quite obvious the D7k not so sharp after looking it at comp monitor, anyway haven fully tested yet. What lens did you used and at what lighting conditions did you get the razor sharp images on the D5k? Now, same question, but for the D7k. I am asking this to see if it might be the limits of the lens and lighting conditions that is being exposed on the D7k's 16mpix sensor. After all, the D5k only has 12mpix. |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 15 2010, 06:39 AM) Really ka?? So sharp? I can see very obvious difference between D7000 and D5000 when taking portraits eh, the face tends to be very soft, I suspect out of focus, I should go back Nikon to calibrate it? How to do it?QUOTE(KTCY @ Nov 15 2010, 08:39 AM) Try at dark places la. Bright places use ISo 3200 see nothing and off the noise reduction ! I shooting at F2.8, still very soft.... not close to sharp at all, I don feel exited n happy after getting this coz not as sharp as old D5000 at iso200, my gf oso can see very soft Gaussian blur because the noise reduction la 1.8 actually very soft I saw bunch of body only set with NIKON MALAYSIA warranty le. Your source Agreed. Tested on 50mm already razor sharp ! Added on November 15, 2010, 9:38 am QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 15 2010, 08:43 AM) Actually a bit scary, cause my friend using 18-105 on her D7000. I'm using 85mm f/1.4G on my D90. On LCD screen her pics looks better in color! Maybe because of better LCD? I dunno, wanted to load the pics up in my pc to view but I lost my SD with the D7000 pics U r right!! The D7000 has more saturated colors(a bit too fake) even at Standard settings! CY how u find the images at iso200? Can share a bit, I dunno wat's wrong, who can help me.....Added on November 15, 2010, 9:44 amI bought at 3.9 k, initially I was told 3.8k, but the boss of my fren's shop insisted to sell at least of RM100 margin to me coz very limited stock now..... All shop have +/- 3 units only, my fren told me to wait, but they dunno when is the next shipment, might be few weeks to 1 month, scared of ending up no body for christmass, haha..... So if u guys can find cheaper than 3.9k, pls grab it while u can...... This post has been edited by Kent3888: Nov 15 2010, 09:44 AM |
