Wow, all that ice around the processor. Woudln't it soon condense and become water and damage the chip?

Geez, I didn't know computer components were 'water friendly' like that

QUOTE(De_Cruelz @ Jun 9 2005, 08:54 PM) Geez, I didn't know computer components were 'water friendly' like that Yup, as long as there's no electricity flowing through them when they're wet. Once they're completely dried, they should run just fine |

Ahh, interesting info. Thanks arj!
Perhaps its time to try playing with some DI and wrap it all around my radiator to cool the water loop This post has been edited by De_Cruelz: Jun 9 2005, 09:17 PM |

QUOTE(De_Cruelz @ Jun 9 2005, 09:16 PM) Ahh, interesting info. Thanks arj! Would be a bit of a bugger to make sure it doesn't mess with the other components as the thing cause condensation of water vapor within the vicinity of the radiator. I've always wondered the possibillity of using instead the portable air cond some forumers arre using but instead modify it a bit so that a piping be routed to a shroud housing the radiator. Then cold air can be directly be flowing into the radiator. Just a thought.Perhaps its time to try playing with some DI and wrap it all around my radiator to cool the water loop |

Considering my water cooling loop will include the CPU and 2 GPU blocks, the risks involved due to condensation is too high. I wonder how low the temps will drop with DI by wrapping the rad with it though. If it doesn't drop too low then I guess there is no need for it. Or if condensation starts to appear, I could shut the system immediately so the water will be harmless

QUOTE(arj @ Jun 10 2005, 12:32 AM) Actually DI is one of the cheapest forms of cooling, albeit a non-permanant one. My first DI container cost me RM60 and DI is RM3.80 per kg wow!! thats a very cheap price for a DI container, i thought rm60 would be the shipping cost from USA! lol.. are u talkign bout the one from US? |

i'd really like this thread and wouldn't want it to dissapear.. it contains so much info for those who would like to go extreme without much of a hassle with phase change or pelting.. so lets vote for this thread to get pinned... EXTREME COOLING: Dry Ice
